Internet map

Hi,

what about a map related with the internet infrastructure map ? With the important nodes and the main route used to connect the various part of the world.

Maybe it will be possible to group territory in groups by traffic type, like:
big site (google, yahoo, ebay, and so on)
gaming net (wow and similar)
p2p
and so on.

It will be fun to add spam, malware and viruses as well.

hmm yeah, but if most sites are copyright except for the small and unknown ones, then what he was suggesting wouldn't work with the group territorys,

unless you ask them of course, being the internet they would probably be down with some free advertising.

And you could use the word google, as long as you don't use their logo

Maybe just continents based on related areas, with the connections between them based on internet communication.

ex.

You have the gaming continent with terits MMORPG, Strategy, FPS, MMO, etc connected to the Social Networking continent with IMs. I dunno. Might work. :P

Wasn't there a map on 4chan/somethingawful/YTMND showing land mass of the internet, with land size proportional to the number of users.
