Question about map making

Post by OnlyAmbrose »

I've always wanted to try my hand at map making, I have rudimentary knowledge of photoshop and GIMP, but I just don't have the time or knowledge to do XML. Are there generally people willing to code maps that are designed by someone else?

Thanks for any answers :)

yes.
you can usually find someone without too much trouble.
As long as people are interested in your map, at least. Its much easier to find people to help you if you have a good map.

XML is the last stage of the process - you make the images - someone will make the XML for/with you.

And even if you can't find someone to do the XML for you, it's not very hard, at least if your map has classic gameplay. Some XML looks beyond awful to do - like Poker Club - both most maps are fairly simple, and the XML tutorial is ace.

I just made a pretty easy (at least I think) XML tool for excel.
You need to know virtually nothing about XML coding. It is all built in.
