Australasia is a large region of the southwest Pacific that encompasses many small countries and, for some reason, has not been explored as a viable map idea yet! I can't even find a dead ideas thread on it! There is a lot of potential for this map, given the amount of small countries in the pacific, the possible groupings into "continents", and the multitudinous routes available. Also, there are oceanic borders already established between all of the nations in Micronesia and Polynesia.
I intend making this map to celebrate the continental region that I live in, which doesn't currently have a map. Sure, we have Australia, but Aussie is a country, and New Zealand, Papua, and the Pacific Islands are ordinarily associated with Australia when talking about the Australasian continent.
