ha, one guy in our team invented a new tactic. we play 8 escalating games, and he justs sits and doesnt attack, means he has no cards or 1-2 max. so no one wants to attack him and he gets eliminated last or second to the last one. and he gets 6-7 points each game. so after the 8 games he will get 48-56 points from 64 max. will be hard to beat him lol

actually, he cares more about advancing to the second round then winning the game and getting some points.

i mean, this is a tactic, wise one, but a poor tactic -.-
so what do you think about advancing to the second round without any wins or with 1 accidental win? xD

I will look into everything more deeply later and answer everything. Right now I just want to say that I know that some games have finished (thank you for the results), some hasn't started for awhile now (I'm keeping an eye on them and will bring in reserves when time is right) and some new games need making (I will deal with this later today).

I've made several games for 6 and 8 player events. I'll also remake some games into 5 player games because there's no point bringing in a reserve for last game or two (especially as I have so few reserves left and it seems that I've depleted the tournament forums ). In new 5-player games scoring will be: winner - 5 points, 2nd place - 4 points, 3rd place - 3 points, 4th place - 2 points, last - 1 point.


NB! All 3-player and 4-player games for Qualifying Round 1 has been made and they are active. I won't be touching these events before all games have finished.

I've set up new one and will send it out shortly. I know that missing turns isn't nice and I'm against it but I have to be honest and realistic here - I'm almost out of reserves so my resources aren't giving me a chance to replace those who just miss turns. I'm sorry that it is happening but I can only suggest that you try to hang on and play the games in the tournament and after that put him to your foe list or just hope that you don't have to play with him anymore.

As you are all premiums then I gave the player a bit more time. As it's last 2 games and I don't have many reserves then I decided that your group will play 5-player games instead of the ones that I've created to you currently. I will remake them soon.

Understandable. Thanks for the info, btw, I calculated your group's points and you are correct - you are the winner and last game can't change anything. So I decided that the last game don't have to be played and I dropped it.

I'm sorry that your playing experience is bad but everybody has the right to do that if they wish as it is not against any rule. When considered as tournament games then these games are smartly played by them, especially if they will advance in the end. I hope that your games end soon and then you can foe them if you wish (though I don't suggest it because they have taken advancing in tournament as main goal and not to get points from the games).

As I mentioned in my previous post, all 3-player (ARCHERY, ATHLETICS & CANOE/KAYAK) and 4-player (CYCLING, DIVING, EQUESTRIAN, GYMNASTICS) events have got their last Qual. Round 1 games so these events are mostly settled and we just need to wait for them to finish the games. I've decided that I will not be moving on to Qualifying Round 2 before all games and groups have finished in the same size of events (example: all 3-player games must end before I move on to Round 2 with 3-player games). That way I have more time and energy to spend with 6- and 8-player games that might of had less attention because they are way more messy and more of a trouble to me because of deadbeats.

8-player event (WEIGHTLIFTING) is appr. half way through. Some groups move slower, some faster but I'd say that 50% of the games are played and I can only hope that things will go smoother now and with less deadbeats as, once again, I have more time for this event. Now on, if we have a deadbeat somewhere then 8-player games will be replaced with 7-player games. I have exactly 1 reserve left and I'm leaving him for an emergency case only

6-player events (MODERN PENTATHLON, ROWING, SAILING, SHOOTING, SWIMMING, TRIATHLON) are mostly doing well. Most groups have reached their last game(s) and will finish soon and a few groups are still playing their 2nd set (game 3 and 4). Only exception is Shooting which is no cards games. I will remind them that if their game reaches round 66 then the game won't count in the overall standings. Maybe it will make people do some bold moves


I will update scoreboard within a week but no promises exactly when. There isn't much new from previous update and I just noticed that it wasn't that long ago so it can wait for awhile.

My next post will include everybody who have already qualified to next round. Thank you those who played but didn't advance!!!

edit. So there wouldn't be any confusion later on then here is how I decided to solve the first tiebreaker situation.

Triathlon, Group 6
Both MudPuppy and bcf2113 have the same amount of points after all games. As I can't let both of them advance then tie needs to be solved. Both have won 1 game so that won't help. Therefore, I've decided that they will play a 5 game series in following settings: 2-player, Sequential, Escalating, Adjacent, Sunny. Whoever wins 3+ games, advances to next round. Other person has dropped out.

I added this to first post a few weeks ago.

NEW! I don't know how I missed it in the beginning but tiebreakers will be solver like this. If there's a tie then first place points will be checked and who has the most wins, advances. If that doesn't work then for each situation I will find the best solution (some extra games will be played in that case).

If I remember correctly then csiguy79 had 2 wins and others only 1. I'll try to post the scoreboard on Sunday.

I've included everything possible to the scoreboard. All finished games, new games that I've made and all eliminations that have happened already (except in games that have a danger going over 66 rounds because these games might not count overall).

If you check post above then you will see everybody who have already advanced and those groups have finished their games. If you haven't got any active/waiting games then it means that tournament for you is over (unless you are mentioned in post above).

I've made final decision that I will start 2nd qualification round after Christmas (probably last week of Decemeber). Everybody who qualified/will qualify to next round, make sure to have 2 slots open for that time. If somebody leaves for a vacation or can't be around during that time then make sure to let me know about it!

I should have more time for the tournament but at the same time I travel a lot during weekends and won't have that much time for CC. Plus during Christmas I will surely spend more time with family which means less time behind a computer but I think many will have the same thing so some delays during that time will be acceptable.

Please, if your game(s) ends then let me know about it right away so I could make new games for your groups. Next scoreboard update in a week or two, depends how fast things move and how I will have time.
