WW2 Operation Market Garden - v4

Post by crosseout »

Operation Market Garden

Vital info:
Map Title: Operation Market Garden
Mapmaker: crosseout
9 Regions
71 territories (+ 13 cities = 84)
Bonuses: 9(regions) + 4 (ammunition storage)
Gameplay: Hold the cities to win, other than that, standard.
Size: Large 840px × 800px; Small 630px × 600px

Setting
September 17 1944, Operation Market Guarden was launched. The plan was to secure a crossing over the Rhine, which was the last natural barrier into germany.

Objective

Seize all the cities along the route.

Neutrals
5 neutrals in every city
1-3 neutrals on normal territories.
3 neutrals on any river crossing

Features
- Cities have a -2 bonus
- Cities can only attack the cities in front and back, but may attack any territory its own territory boarders.
- Ammunition points, 1 bonus for every territory with ammunition supplies.

plan
I do everything, but obviously I depend on the community feedback(;

Work done

- Created the base layers
- Created the route and cities
- Rivers & crossings
- Territories & regions
- City names, region names & territory labels
- ROE (rules of engagement)
- Legend
- update 3
- colored bonusregions
- clearer background
- added ammunition points
- better bridges

- Bonus overview not completed
- need feedback on everything:)

suggestions
- small map coming soon
- color territories working on it now

note that the style is supposed to look like it was hand drawn by a soldier, not just rough state....

Wow this is looking nice, my only critique so far is about the bonuses - you probably want some color code or bolder lines to clarify further.

What did you do this in?

ok,lets try to give some oppinion.
1.Add army shadows
2.Bonus space cover to much of map.
3.Bridges can be much better.
4.I belive that everything writen on these map size, will be very imposible to read in small map.
5.I think that you start with huge task,to create map with these numbers of territory, who is look to much.
6.I will give more oppinions when you present small images

thanks:)

1. what is army shadow, what do you mean?
2. I'll try to squeese it down
3. The map is supposed to look hand drawn, but I suppose I'll make some decent ones(;
4. I'll make the typing larger if it becomes a problem.
5. I don't get what you mean?
6. Smaller image is coming within 24 hours.

IMO you should make all the cities start neutral, possibly with 4 or 5.

ya, the text in the small is really hard to read, and is it really need to split the word 'territory' into two lines?

Army shadows-these is circle where you put army numbers.

I can give you sugestion, that you first add army circle and names, and then to create new territory, who will have enough space for bouth things.

I'll post a map with army-numbers, and then we'll see if armycircles are needed; I have a feeling that the circles are not necessary on this map. I'll post update tomorrow(;

the instructions about cities can only own territories or something ridiculous doesn't make sense (i'm talking about the paragraph right above bonuses)
