I agree. The list would rotate too quickly to be of any use.
I agree also. You don't get your map medal for having maps in development.
I would not want to exclude anyone who has potential to make maps, far be it from me to do that, but i think we should concentrate on finishing one step at a time.
Let qwert get the existing maps done first.
then if you want to enhance the list with other things (not potential mapmakers) you can add that later.
You want this list to be something that can be kept up to date with little work and no be too unwieldly to keep up-to-date when it need refreshing.
Remember, this should be a fun thing to do, not an arduous chore.

quert, judging by the responses in this thread, you'll be able to get a lot of support/help from other mapmakers. We could all contribute a little bit to complete this.

Ofcourse, without help of other map makers, its much dificulty to create these index

Pish, posh, I created the original tournament hall of fame in less than two days and it had a whole lot more information in it than this list does.

Well its easy for you to say these, because you are been Tournament Moderator, and you have all informacion in your book,i dont have access to all these informacion, and i need to ask people who what done, because in hes profile only write "Developer" and "Co-Developer"
Also im not been here where first map whas made.

Nope, my status as a Tournament Director gave me absolutely no advantage. I did it the old fashioned way, by looking through the Completed Tournament forum and gathering the information. You could do exactly the same thing with the Final Forge forum if you want, anyone can. You simply have to be willing to put in the proper effort and take the time to do it right.
There are links to all the map threads in the Foundry History thread started by yeti_c (which was assimilated into the Developmental Atlas).
There are links to all the people with mapmaking medals on the Medals page of the instructions... to get all the names of all people involved with the development of all the maps will either require trawling through all the map threads, or PM'img all the medal-winners for their help...
PB: 2661 | He's blue...If he were green he would die | No mod would be stupid enough to do that
Is it possible to do a list by map? This would enable Map Information to use it in addition to any scripts that might want to.
The site and /or scripts could then reorder or filter by mapmaker or whatever criteria you chose.

you can also get them from clicking on the maps in the Game finder and seeing who is listed on the map as the developers.
Whichever way it is done doesn't really matter, as long as the correct information is gathered...so everyone come'on, give qwert a hand and make this a team effort.

Don't tell me to be quiet, it's rude.
its a joke.
Any way, like you now say"to put proper effort and take the time to do it right".If i want to be good i can not finish these for two day, like you do. Also some old maps dont have any development, because Map Foundry not exist in begining,so i will speak with MAp MAker, because these is best way to informacion been correct.

Agreed, collective effort and this information can be put to all sorts of good use, let's keep this one going.

Can you provide the list on a map by map basis?
e.g.
Africa: Graphics - Lilwdlnddude;XML - Lilwdlnddude
Age of Merchants - Graphics - DIM;XML - yeti_c
This would make it easier to put into the maps.xml as new tags.
you can also get them from clicking on the maps in the Game finder and seeing who is listed on the map as the developers.
Are you talk abouth FIREFOX?
No qwert...works in IE also. but you have to click on map in list for small image to appear on page, then you can clilck on image and small version of map appears on screen.

Mine attention is to Create Map Maker Index, not Map index, because something is all ready in developmental attlas. Here in first place is people who create maps.

Yep, agreed. I could do this automatically once qwert finished (better than someone constantly hand-modifying it).
If the info were by map then putting it into the maps.xml could allow the site to generate the same data that is held in the development
atlas if the right info were put into it. Anyway, I hope we can get some agreement here, because this would be a great start for Map Information.

Realy i must check these
I think Cairns must have the filter GM script installed and qwert does not, cause that's a feature of that script. Another amazing addition to the site by chipv

No, the only add-ons i've got insstalled are Dice Analayizer, BOB, and Map Rank, (all of which i hardly ever use ).
What i was talking about i would assume should be on all game finder pages....perhaps you've just never used it.

Oh, I get what you mean now. You mean open the map thumbnail and look at the mapmaker's signature on it, right?
Chipv's script actually doesn't list developers, but it gives the total number of territories, number that start neutral, and number that each player/neutral starts with for games with every possibly number of starting players.

Yes that is correct, there is a facility called lightbox which activates whenever you click on any thumbnail on the gamefinder.
It's easier to see graphics and xml designers this way and also there is a link to the discussion thread too.
The Games Filter script (with great support from Zeak) adds additional info such as number of territories, starting territories.
It also filters the maps by complexity which is another story...
The whole point being to give new users a better idea of what the map is all about.
Of course it is possible to add developers to this script but it is better to add it to the site via the xml too.
