Ok, partly to help qwert, partly to help Map Information, here is a first attempt at listing mapmakers by map.
The idea is to put these people into xml tags in the maps.xml and subsequently be used by the site and possibly scripts.
The list was compiled by going through the lightbox images on the gamefinder and clicking on the discussion topics.
Please let me know of any errors. I have put revamp designers in as well, btw.
this is why having only graphics and xml is silly. we're not held by any restrictions except ones we decide to put forth. right now we're not giving a true version of the "mapmakers by map"
Operation Drug War
I came up with the idea and the gameplay. Telvannia came in and did the graphics. zimmah and myself combined on the XML
South America
I did the graphics. The gameplay was a dual effort by myself and Marvaddin. I did the XML.
you've put these down as...
Operation Drug War Graphics: edbeard, XML: zimmah South America Graphics: edbeard, XML: Marvaddin
right now your list has everything totally wrong on these two maps and your system has no real way to "right" this. if you stick with this system and put everything in "correctly" you'd list those two maps like this...
Operation Drug War Graphics: Telvannia, XML: zimmah, edbeard South America Graphics: edbeard, XML: edbeard
which would remove myself from what I really did on ODW and what Marvaddin did for South America.
I agree with edbeard. More categories are needed. Graphics are an important bit, yes, but Gameplay makes the map in the end. I would suggest having categories based on the stamps, that is Idea (now called Draft, but I still like the Idea as a term), Gameplay, Graphics, and XML. This should fill all of the gaps as far as I am aware. Yes, there will be duplication of data, but it's better to be thorough than to be concise when it comes to map development.
And as an addendum, Gimil didn't do the graphics for any of the AoR maps, the original IDEA was his, though.

See what I said in the thread by qwert for my thoughts on how to organize this information. It's much like what you just said, though.
in the case of revamps, the idea and gameplay areas are helpful because they give the original mapmaker the credit for what they did. if we look at circus maximus, widowmakers should get the graphics credit on his own. the idea portion can cover the general shape and layout/theme whereas WM gets the credit for actually doing the detail since the original graphics are gone

Great list, though! Should be very useful.
Done, thanks.

Corrected, thanks.

I would be delighted to add the 2 additional categories if people would be kind enough to provide the info.
Graphics and xml just happened to be the easiest to start with.
Thanks for the correction also.
Just some corrections for you chip. DiM didn't do any graphics for Feudal War, nor was the idea or gameplay his. His name is on the map because of the great support he gave during its development, even thou he wasn't a part of the development, if that make sence.
