I don't want to play you that bad. It would be nice if I could because I never have. I asked you a question and that is it. I will not play on those settings because they are primarily luck based. If you would like to play with me you can play on World 2.1, Waterloo, Battle of Actium, Conquerman or Bamboo Jack. There is a couple others that I would risk. Enjoy your night scott

don't let it hurt your feelings, big guy.

pretty sad when the "best" won't play a mid-rank player without an edge.

luck is 50/50, but playing someone on a map they've never played is a sure thing.

play me in both games. you'll win one for sure, and surely have the upper hand (skill-wise) in the other. only good luck for me in that particular game can hurt you. otherwise, i think you're a coward and do not admire your rank, whatsoever.

i was just kidding. im not sad. nobody can maintain this score if they play luck based settings

then enjoy your rank, i'm sure you'll keep it since you never risk it.

that pretty much somes up your ignorance

yes, it would be 50/50 but he has 4 times your score so he cant play a 50/50 game against you

Quite right JH. Seeing as KH has 4 times the score, he should be 4 times better. So they actually need to play considerably more games than just 2. I'm sure there's someone on the site who could work out the equation as to how many they should actually play, I'm pretty certain it is more than 5 games.

JH,

I'm not ignorant at all. I have the same issue if I take on a cook or a private.

1) I play for fun and competition. My score is something I "try" to improve, but I won't let fear of decreasing my score shape my behavior.

2) I don't mind giving a lower rank player a shot at me, knowing the risk/reward ratio is high. I'll beat most of them, and the one (out of several or more) who beats me deserves the points.

3) Remember HE invited ME, out of the blue, to play him. I don't go seeking out newbies on maps they've never played before. That would be pretty much a guaranteed victory. With his (alleged) skills, he should have the advantage over me in the other game. No spoils (it's not like I offered him a flat rate game) means the only luck is in the drop and the dice (which should even out).

I used to have a computer "Risk" game where u played up to 6 computer opponents. I almost always won, and a buddy challenged me as to why I played it. "Does it ever beat you?" he asked. I said "hardly" and sorta wondered why DID I play it?...

If KH wants guaranteed victories, I can probably dig up that program for him...

Where's the challenge in what he's doing? He's just taking advantage of others' ignorance (of his chosen maps) over and over again. Very impressive.

You seem firmly intrenched in your point of view, Scott.
I admire a man of conviction.

Thus, with your train of logic, you would play ME? With your map and settings you sent KH?

I think the rank diffrence is somewhat relative, if on the other foot.

I will await your P.M.

Cheers!

JR, absolutely. I have no problem playing any rank at all. The point is, neither of us will have an INHERENT advantage. Luck comes and goes (I've complained about my dice, plenty) but I believe in the long run it evens out. I enjoy playing CC. If I had to bend over backwards to find/create games where I had an inherent advantage, it would be a lot less fun.

I guess I may be missing a point you're trying to make?

PM on the way.

Okay, I am usually silent on these types of things, but ever since Herpes took the top spot I have seen an increased amount of bitching about him. So, lets cut through the bs and simply focus on the heart of the matter.

What I have quoted above is your self-proclaimed style of play and game selection here at CC. Obviously, King Herpes does not follow the same methodology. So, my question to you is...why do you care? Just as you are entitled to pick and choose the games you participate him, Herpes too is perfectly within his rights to excercise his free will to do as he pleases on this website. It baffles me that his preferences (at least in regard to the maps/game play setting he prefers) get people so bent out of shape.

The irony of it all is that if scott were to answer my question honestly, it is because points/rank matter a tremendous amount to him and he is suffering from severe rank inferiority (not just as compared to herpes, but in general as well). Why is that ironic? Because he is calling out Herpes for caring about points/rank! I respect people like KH (and Jeff Hardy, although to a lesser extent) for at least being up front and honest about what their motiviation is...namely to accrue as many points as possible. I mean KH is absolutely right....if you guys were to play 20 of those Africa games, he would have to win nearly all of them to not lose points. Since he cares about points, he declined. He is perfectly within his rights to do so, and I, for one, am getting pretty tired of people whining incessantly about him simply for excercising his free will.

Mojo has spoken.

mojo, you're entitled to your opinion, even if you misunderstand and misrepresent my motivation.

I enjoy PLAYING and COMPETING.

When I finally win a hard fought game, especially one I thought I was going to lose at some point, it is rewarding.

I do not enjoy beating someone where they have essentially no shot at winning. I have been a major twice and have dropped back down to sgt first class both times. I don't like games where I flop a big bonus and know i'm going to win from before the first turn.

That's the situation KH is intentionally setting up, apparently for every game he plays. To me, that's cowardice, and I don't understand the "pride" associated with the points accumulated that way. What's the point of taking challenges that aren't challenging?!

I have never said a word about King Herpes before, and really don't care about the top of the scoreboard. My addiction to 1v1 games against pretty much anyone who starts one makes that impossible for me to attain. But to have the "top dog" come attempt to solicit me into a sucker's bet is, in my opinion, pretty pathetic.

you may disagree, and i won't try to change your opinion that i'm being hypocritical. keep it.

but if i DID become a specialist on some game, i wouldn't solicit novices to play me, i'd want to play the OTHERS who are best at that map/setting combo. only then would my "title" mean anything to me.

How do you think he got to where he is? Sure, he's a good player and win's a lot of speed freestyle, but he also plays a lot of suckers

Scott,

First off, I quoted you verbatim, so I didn't misrepresent anything. Secondly, if you don't care who's at the top of the scoreboard, why take the time to start this thread in the first place? I'd venture to guess if you had had the same exchange with a captain, you'd probably not make a public post about it.

Herpes challenged you to a game that he prefers to play. Either accept the challenge, or politely decline (like he did to you). Coming to the forum to cry about it, but then claim that you don't care who's at the top, feigns credibility and is generally a waste of a thread.

Its the simple fact of how he got there that makes it the issue. You guys argue that KH has a right to protect his rank and overlook that he tried to hook him into a suckers bet, which IS the issue.

Your the type of folks that would play a quadriplegic in a 1vs1 basketball game and then pat your self on the back for the win, he after all volunteered to play.

I hear hes top ranked playing darts with blind people as well.

Well let me just first say to you scottp that I am deeply hurt. I thought we had something special when obviously we don't. Saying goodbye to you wasn't easy but there just wasn't any real spark between us. I invited you into my life for a cup of coffee and you didn't even catch my heavy drift? Oh well, it's your loss really. It was just a friendly incitation and you certainly didn't have to tell the whole school about our little fling. You act so vengeful as if I flipped your pizza or pissed on your pillow. What really broils my brisket the most is that this is going to ruin my chances at becoming CC's 2009 Snowcoming Queen. I was really looking forward to you and I riding around in my Dad's Corvette convertible...

...I'll be waiting at my locker for an apology. If you care!
