Best option and easyer option will be always that auto-atack option stopn when u loose half of armies u atack.

you put in the number of attacks you want the auto attack to make and it makes them
auto attack is great sometimes when u have to attack or u r just finishin off a game or watever. problem is sometimes u hav 70 armies against 50. now if u got down to u havin 2 and them havin 6 then some1 else would easily take them out and this would cost u the game. wat i propose is you would be able to enter a number of attacks so its auto attack in stages...
if i want to do this then i have to just repeatedly click the attack but really quick so the pages don't load but it registers it. i then see the result. being able to specify a number would be great i think
auto attack is a nice feature, but is too powerful.
Why don't you allow the user to set the maximum number of unit he is allowed to lose before stopping the attack ?
Example: I'm attacking Kamchatka, defended by 50 units, with my 102 units. Since there are a lot of units involved, I'd love to use autoattack, but I do not want to lose more than 20 armies.
I this is a simple but powerful functionality to add.
I think something along those lines may already be on the to-do list for Lack, but I'm not entirely sure. I know it's been discussed many times before though.
Further discussion can be found here. Locked, please continue discussion in the other thread. Also, OPie is correct that it is already on the "To-Do" list.
Auto attack is often maligned but still is used by many. There is a feature that would make it more useful, however, the ability to stop it before the end.
There are two situations where I would be more inclined to use auto attack that I can't now (especially on maps such as City Mogul).
1. There is a tert that I am going to take but I want to knock it down as far as possible without taking it from Tert A and then end up taking it from Tert B. Currently can't autoattack because of the possibility of Tert A taking the enemy tert. So the option to Attack Opponent down to X (default to 2) armies could be added.
2. I want to attack my opponent yet be sure to have enough armies on my border at the end of the turn. For this one the option needs to be Attack until X armies are left on my tert.
Particularly in situations where you've got 200 attacking 50 these types of options would be useful in getting through ones turn.
maybe, instead of rolls, we can use loss. So, you can set after how many units lost the rolls must stop:
Auto: [] 5 loss [] 10 loss [] to the death!
So, if you are attacking a territory with your 40 armies, and click on [] 10 loss, to attacks go on automatically until your forces are reduced to 30 (or eventually 29, if in the last roll you lose two armies).
This allow a good series of rolls to go on, and stop rapidly if you are only losing armies.
How long has this been on Lack's "To do list"??? A year or more? Seems that nothing on that list gets done lately. I play esc games almost exclusively and when games go more than 10 rounds, this would be really useful.
I was moaning the other day to someone about how you should be able to auto-attack until the defender only has 1 left. Any plans for that or are you only reviewing the attackers arsenal?
Apologies if this has already been raised...
That is fine, but it should appear as a scroll box to the right of both assault buttons and default to three, then stay where you set it. To have to set it for each assault would be time consuming, and there's times where the floodgates open and two players are going head-to-head to terminate someone or against each other. Forcing more time into each turn would create an imbalance that I think is best avoided.
How about having drop down lists just underneath the territory lists so that you can choose the minimum number of troops you want left on that territory once you've hit auto attack?
which is how it currently is in the game*. That way you could then choose how much you want to weaken your opponent and set a limit to how much you're prepared to weaken yourself.
* but without the drop down lists and without the option, obviously

Auto Assault needs to be adjusted. Instead of a drop from ...say..20 vs 5 and you find your troop count down to 3 vs 2, it would be better for players to lose troops in no more than 3. Each time you can assess whether to continue Auto Assault, switch to single attack mode, or halt.
With large troop to troop opponents as in games like World 2.1, taking single shots is time consuming. Why shaft yourself with Auto Assault in those situations ? Anybody agree ? Let's request the map wizards to fix this glitch !
Map makers have no input on this ? I find that hard to believe...they do write software, don't they? Oh, thanks for your input. Care to explain that hammer and sickle avatar ?
Have a "five rolls" button (or ten) in between attack and auto attack.
Specifics:
If you hit 5 rolls, the computer rolls the dice 5 times, ditto for ten.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
I hate hitting auto attack but I also don't like the idea of clicking the attack button for 90 seconds strait or more on maps like city mogul and 2.1, so this would be an in between.
People won't be motivated to hit auto attack as much and so will make better strategy decisions.
Improve speed game gameplay as people can roll the dice quickly without compromising tactics.
People will want to play more games if each game takes less time so they'll be more motivated to buy premium.
Maybe we could have a box under the 'Assault' button in which you can input a number...
Obviously it would need to be safe-coded so you can't roll more times than you have troops to be lost.
its not availiable for the common non scripted used still using internet explorer. (you know thats still the majority of users?)
Still, I'd love to see this button, or a way to set an amount of attacks.
suggestion,
cant the attack butten be like the fortification button? you auto fort with all units, but you can fort with less?!?
So attack (number of troops availiable/choise) press button, done!
