Are you aware that you can, right now, watch a foggy game? If you are not a player, you cannot see any numbers on the map, and the log is full of question marks, but you can see how many troops were awarded for holding some number of territories, or some unidentified zone.
I agree that it might be nice to see who is looking in on a game, but that should include players as well as kibbitzers.
I also agree with your thoughts on foes. Currently foes are filtered out of your game chat, but I don't know if they are prevented from putting in something that other players in your game can see.
Until this sort of thing is added to the site, there are add-ins to do this sort of thing:
Saved Searches For Internet Explorer Script and
New Greasemonky Script - Saved Searchs. With a saved search, you should be able to go to the Game Finder page, click to run a search which finds the games of interest, then Enter Game and bob's your uncle.
