What do you think about people who dont talk in game chat until the very end where they say "gg" and nothing else?

i dont really like talking in games even with partners ... if you wanna be friends and talk come to live chat ...but in a game i dont want to hear about your life and what not thats why i play to not stress over that stuff to relax and chill ..and most of the talking in games are about ... my dice suck or your dice rock or you had a better drop ...all you can do is say yeah and either feel bad or mad that you got the bad luck this time ..and if you say gg i do sometimes when i think "wow this was really fun or what a fight "

Depends on the situation. If I'm trying to make an alliance to gang up on the game leader and no one responds, then I will be annoyed.

You don't even want to talk with teamates. Is that a preference for a psychic connection to just "know" what the others are planning or do you just perceive that any strategy should be obvious and not require discussion?

I prefer some banter in games. It's not about "making friends" or understanding everything that's going on in "your life" . . . but some interactive communication is nice. After all we are playing a game together and going 50 to 100 rounds in mute mode is kind of silly. It's a game with living breathing people connected to all the colored numbers on the map which lends itself to a bit of social interaction as we compete. Logging into live chat has no attachment to the game we are playing. I'm not seeking intellectual debate during games, but some relaxed conversation is always a bonus as we chill out and play.

When players do not bother using chat for 40 rounds I imagine a group sitting around a Risk board for a few hours playing in total silence.

I agree man, especially on team battles where you try to form a strategy and discuss a plan, and nobody says anything and are playing for themselves?!?! I can understand if a person doesn't understand English or something but the only one so far that I know of that didn't in the games I've played was a french man, and he still wrote in the chat, not the best english, but at least he spoke ( actully trying to form an alliance against me, which nobody listened to and they instead attacked him which made the game a whole lot easier for me Game 3922511) People need to stop being so stubborn, alliances and strategy talk is a big part of the game, I wouldn't have won that game without it.

I've played a few where the chat was as entertaining as the game and on several occassions where English was not everyones' native tongue I employed the Babelfish Translator which can be create some funintentionally funny dialogue too.

I appreciate people's efforts to communicate with a language that is a challenge for them to speak and whenever possible I attempt to do the same.

Well I can to, I don't need to talk to people, but it can get kinda boring not talking sometimes. But most of all I'm talking about team battles or situations in the game which require communication, which is a big part of the game if you let it. I think most people don't say shit because they're afraid to get on peoples bad side

It does "sorta" annoy me because I feel like I'm generally courteous, and fairly talkative, but it's hard to have a conversation with yourself . If I don't have anything interesting to say though, my 'talkativeness' is basically "gl mate", and "gg", and if they deserve it "wp".

There should never be chat except gg or gl, specially in fog games, talking to a partner is a different story...but even still, certain circumstances you and your partner know what has to be done, so no chat is required ...We all know people try to use abusive shit, and racial slurs to get your opponent upset, so why not just not say anything

I was in a freestyle/speed game with 8 players on W 2.1 and it's amazing that there was a lot of chat since the pace of play was nuts. The constant banter slowed as the game progressed to the point of only desperate text, because it became a feeding frenzy just trying to finish turns and it was tough to even look down at the game chat box.

Are you serious? That's completely ridicilous Well if your happy loosing games that's just how it is, but fact is, that there's a lot of games which makes it a lot easier to win if you communicate (but also a lot easier to loose if you're smart mouthed as you're afraid off ) The point is if the chat is abusive, it really can come back and bite you in the ass, and that's not really fun is it
