Hell, he was so much more important than Gordon in Batman Begins and while Gordon does more in Dark Knight Alfred has still a lot of screen time. You obviously never dealt with an enabler before but there's still no freaking way the Joker could not be lynched and only be killed by the Batman, considering the dead power roles so far so... however if MM *IS* found to be mob... then what makes more sense? that the dark knight mafia does without gordon (who is said to be 1/3 of the major fight against the evil of gothom along side batman and harvy) or alfred (who while he had a big part in batman begins, didnt do nearly as much in the dark knight)
