Awww, now thats just mean...even if you are just joking.

Theres plenty of good people with those ranks. Theres some that are probably even good at the game. The main reason for the number of course, is its where nearly all of the new players end up.

And many casual players that truly just play for fun. Ive had my score there long enough to know, its not that hard to stay there, if you play silly games, and dont worry about your score.

Oh Come on Fitz.... You know no matter what game you play, even doodle assassin, you can nearly make SGT if you know anything at all. SGT should be very easy to make, unless you play 1 or 2 games at a time only. Even for the freemiums they get high up too.

i think this is what marks the difference though between "casual" players that have a few games going, log on once a day, and are just after a good time, and the "more addicted" like us bruce, who log in a few times a day, have some more games going on, and are continuously trying to get better and learn new things.
when i first joined i doubt i had the potential for more than SFC immediately, but over the years i have been here i have learned a lot and now am always easily a major.

not really, because of the large amount of newbies that join a game or four, play for a while and then decide this is too slow. they put new points into ciculation and are dropped from the scoreboard.

• The number of points lost by this "large" number isn't big enough to show the phenomenon your expecting.

This has probably been said in another thread that I'm too lazy to look up, but I think if you are talking about how elite people are, it should only include players who have played, at bare minumum, more than 100 games. Take my score for example. I've finished 49 games and have another 9 in progress with a score of 1350. At the moment I'm in about the top 26% but I'm not sure that's acurate. Maybe I've been lucky. Maybe at 100 games I'll be a major. Maybe I'll be a cook. Maybe I'll only be where I am now. But I probably play more than most casual players, so being elite should apply more to me than to them. But most 'elite' players probably still scoff at my score or games played and fair to them. The more you play, the more your rank will likely average out to your actual ability. There are execeptions but you get what I mean.

To be frank, I'll judge how elite I am when I make major. If you have the patience and dedication to get the sword and baton you're alright in my book.

Tim's right. If the scoreboard only shows active players, then the median (and the average) will move up. Here's the reasoning, most people who only play for a short time tend to loose points, so most of the people who stop playing will be below 1,000, and when they are taken off the scoreboard the average will move up. I could be wrong of course, its possible that enough high ranks stop playing, while still having a lot of points, to offset that. I will try to stop playing when my score is exactly 1,000 so as not to mess up the math : )

That's a reasonable prediction. Perhaps the scores should get reset every so often..
newscore = currentscore-(averagescore-1000)
A sensible idea in theory but unlikely to be popular amongst those who's grades it changed.

Not entirely true. Thai Robert took over 4000 points off of the scoreboard not too long ago and a lot of people have received score resets. This does temper the amount of inflation we have seen. Don't forget the points that are taken off when people get busted (Ramned/the egg over 6000 points between the two of them).

Those are minor in the fact in new recruit deadbeat adds 10-20 points. There are far more of those...
