When you don't like the answer you've received, asking again doesn't tend to be the best way to change that.Megadeth666 wrote:Since it has been suggested "over and over and over again", don't you think some thing would be done

And you know this how? When you don't like the answer you've received, asking again doesn't tend to be the best way to change that.
That would be a clock... like each player has 30 minutes of time per gameMegadeth666 wrote:like a game of chess
Fine. Carry on making the same suggestion over, and over again. Best of luck.Megadeth666 wrote:And you know this how? When you don't like the answer you've received, asking again doesn't tend to be the best way to change that.
I would suspect that it's mostly for reasons of inclusion. Some people have pretty shitty internet connections, making 5 minute rounds difficult to play within, and anything shorter impossible. Also, even on a decent connection, there are situations where killing someone can take a full 5 minutes, with multiple fronts, needing to be careful with attacks (ie, not auto-attacking everything) etc. While shorter rounds might make sense on certain maps/settings, there are also a fair number of maps/settings that are already difficult to play with 5 minutes, and would be impossible with less.jgazaille wrote:why is this such an unreasonable idea? If it has been asked for many so times, then why hasn't it happened? Is there some BIG reason behind it or is it just that everyone thinks 5 min is short enough?
I know I'm kinda new to speed, but I've yet to come across a map that can't be played in 1 minute turns. Humor me with a few.Timminz wrote:I would suspect that it's mostly for reasons of inclusion. Still nothing.by iambligh » Thu Mar 26, 2009 6:46 am
Any progress on this?
I always seem to find my way here when I want to play a quick game and end up waiting 4+ minutes per turn...

One big problem might be that there would be a lot of games where someone wants 1 min, another person wants 3 min, and a third wants 5 min, but all the other settings they want are the same. Now instead of having a 3 player game, they each have a game set up, but no one is joining. Then people will complain about not being able to find a game.TheBro wrote:I still don't understand why this isn't being considered... I wouldn't play it, but it is a great idea. I understand the cons, but those same cons can occur with regular speed games too. Give the people what they want!
Well now you all ready have these problem with some settingsOne big problem might be that there would be a lot of games where someone wants 1 min, another person wants 3 min, and a third wants 5 min, but all the other settings they want are the same. Indeed, same here...of course Klobber putting us on his FOE list simply because we're too high ranking (this is specifically exactly what happened in my case, without question).qwert wrote:Well now you all ready have these problem with some settingsOne big problem might be that there would be a lot of games where someone wants 1 min, another person wants 3 min, and a third wants 5 min, but all the other settings they want are the same. Example: i want to play mine favourite Circuss maximus(escalating fog) when i go to game finder,i find that Klobber join all waiting game, and i can not join becuse he put me in ignore list.
Anyone who plays speed games will experience this. You'll want to play a speed game, but you'll notice that the only available games use settings and maps that you'd rather not play -- this is certainly nothing new to CC. The fix is to create a game with your own preferred settings, or bite the bullet and join a game with "sub-prime" settings.lancehoch wrote:One big problem might be that there would be a lot of games where someone wants 1 min, another person wants 3 min, and a third wants 5 min, but all the other settings they want are the same.
