I love comics (though I'm not that much of an X-men fan). I read Harry Potter ( though I think they're over-rated). I like Wind in the Willows. I like Peter Pan. I like Avatar the Last Air-Bender(talking 'bout TV now). I'm grown-up. I see no contrast here.
Give me a break guys, if you think the HP books are for kids only then you're missing out. FYI, Dumbledore is arguably the most powerful and intelligent wizard in the series and is Harry's headmaster at school.
But why Dumbledore and Wolverine...?

I had X men #1-14 when i was a kid. How was i to know they'd be worth a shitload of money one day? Anyhow, do any of you like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine? I think he sucks. He's like Wolverine would be if he turned into a politically correct yuppie puss cake. Charles Bronson could be Wolverine, but he's dead. I think Mickey Rourke should play the part, cause Jackman as Wolverine really shits the bed.
See, you combined the two classics: Wolverine vs. Spiderman and Dumbledore vs. Raistlin. As it stands, it's a mismatch. Wolverine is a kickass fighter, but Dumbledore uses literal magic. That's pretty ridiculous.
dumbledore was the best wizard ever at transformations right? so one way to prove that dumbledore would win, is that he could turn himself into a Wolverine that is twice as big as the original
Wolverine comes charging in with his claws. Dumbledore changes him into what his name suggests, doesn't think about how vicious wolverines can be. Wolverine wins.

He could just sit there and wait for Dumbledore to croak.

Ah, but he can't regenerate brain cells. Only issue is that the adamantium skull is basically impenetrable.

this...im pretty sure the killing curse beats wolverine if he goes for it.
I think we need to know the setting of the fight - is it completely random (like Wolverine and Dumbledore walk down the street) or is it staged ("In this corner, the indestructible adamantium-encased, WOLVERINE!!! And, in this corner, the white wizard of Hogwarts, DUMBLEDORE!!!"). If it's the former, Wolverine wins via surprise attack. If it's the latter, Dumbledore wins via this death curse thing.
I have before me a copy of "Wolverine SAGA", a freebie which I wa given last time I shopped for comics. Wolverine has bettled a number of magic users and won, including the God Ba'al. He has also returned from death. Quote - "my healing factor's in every cell of my body. So, I guess is my will to live". The adamantium makes him tough, but that's not what gives him regenerative powers. Dates are vague at times, but it looks as if Wolverine was nearly 60 when he got the adamantium.

Well id say as long as Wolverine is capable of suicide, the wizard guy still has a chance.

Maybe but you know dumbledore wouldn't actually have the guts to kill him so that's out of the picture.

a chance or just half a chance?

The only reason Wolverine's still alive is because he's a main protagonist and the writers couldn't kill him off. If he was taken out of his universe he'd be beaten. *Spoiler alert!* At least Rowling has the guts to kill off her most powerful character.

Dumbledore doesn't necessarily have to destroy Wolverine does he? bytheway, Dumbledore is very capable of defeating somebody in a very peaceful way; the way of love!

I would rage at ABBA too.
Also, this is probably one of the first polls I've seen on this site that actually does require the GFY option.
