Arab people as a whole is slightly different to a (relatively small) political party who actively promote both violent rhetoric, ideology and practice. Did you watch the recenet BBC documentary? At the highest level (the entire religion of) Islam was called a 'vicious, wicked faith', with muslims as 'cockroaches'. The BNP was formed by one of Britains most prominant neo-nazis, John Tyndall and the current leader, Nick Griffen, has been convicted for inciting racial hatred.

edit: Also how am I seeing it as simply black and white? I'm white, I have friends of every race, I have friends who are pretty racist and friends who are stupidly left-wing. What I'm against is violence and the threat of violence against anyone, be they protesters, black people, white people, gay people or whoever. I don't know whether you;ve ever studied politics but you do realise that almost all of the policies of the party are a complete joke as well?

well just wanted to imput one thing the swastika was an important symbol way before WWII it means order and peace, now if you where to have the svastika, which is the same thing only in opposite direction which means war and chaos but anyway just wanted to clear that up

First time reading through this thread. Very interesting. People can really get inflammed over symbols of history. Extraordinary.

CDman's avatar is still viewable to me when I check out his profile so I guess it hasn't been changed. I, for one, think that pendant is extremely artistic and "cool" as someone said. Not that I'd wear such a thing, of course, or choose it for an avatar myself. I'm as knowledgeable of war history and atrocities as the next guy so I know what kind of reaction that symbol invokes.

A side note: Here in Thailand, you see the Iron Cross and the Swastika together on necklaces and shirts and people wear them. I've seen it many times. Thai people, being far removed from Western culture and history are very ignorant of Nazi atrocities so they don't understand what the symbol means to Westerners. They wear it because it's stylish, fashionable, and it looks "cool".

Well there's no mistaking a swastika with an iron cross for anything but a nazi symbol.

honoring the strenght of the german army means honoring the killing of inocent people and destroying targets that have not brought any tactical advantages in that war.

there is nothing honorable about the whole nationalsocialism at all, the only thing you could say is that hitler was great speech holder , and the first one who knew how to use media to manipulate people.

besides of this i don't think you can do anything about a player who uses symbols that are (nowatimes in the west) associated wit nazis if this server is not located in germany or austria where it is forbidden.
i personaly don't care if someone uses such symbols as long he does not claim there was a good thing about holocaust or hitler,

as far as i know in history there was only one army that acted kind of "gentlemen" like and that was napoleons army, they where forbidden to rape any women, burning down houses and killing innocent people, they got sentenced to death if they did.
Also napoleon was a great strategist tha analysed his enemys well and was the first one who actually invented the first form of "blitzkrieg". He was able to win fight thou his army often was in a minority due to way he organised his battles and the structure of his army.

so if you have to honor any conquerers ( which i think is stupid) you should honor this one .
