HEHEHE KH, you've still got it!
Locking threads doesn't prevent flaming where flaming isn't supposed to occur; only mods following through on the rules despite it may mean slapping the paw of a pet will inhibit flames where flames aren't supposed to occur for players (like me, but not just me) who shouldn't have to put up with that stuff while playing a game.
Later in this thread someone suggested re-initiating flame wars with a mod monitor. I don't get that. Re-initiate flame wars as THE place for anything goes, where mods and players who don't want to participate don't have to go. If the name "flame wars" isn't appetizing, call it "Free4All Zone."
Meanwhile, ensure the mods start using their rulers to wrist slap for flames and harassment in places like game chat, social, callouts, and other discussions IF it's reported in C&A. Seems a lot less work to send warnings stemming from C&A reports than it is to peek into every chat and provide the equivalent of, "I don't like you no matter what the other dude did to instigate, so you're getting the wrist-slap."
Like, duh, follow what the rules officially say.
