NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 1ST SESSION OF THE 52ND OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN:

THAT the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States.
This is the beginning. If the Oklahoman Governor can get his head out of his ass and support the will of the people, We may be able to save the union.
wake up. This is the end game.

I believe that Texas actually signed it into law... it was their governor that announced the bill. I believe that he signed it into law.

If Georgia secedes, will there be an underground railroad to help get the logical people out? I don't think I can keep a straight face long enough to be a conductor...

WHEREAS, the scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means that the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the states; and

WHEREAS, today, in 2009, the states are demonstrably treated as agents of the federal government; and

WHEREAS, many federal laws are directly in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and

WHEREAS, the Tenth Amendment assures that we, the people of the United States of America and each sovereign state in the Union of States, now have, and have always had, rights the federal government may not usurp; and

THAT this serve as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.

THAT all compulsory federal legislation which directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed.

THAT a copy of this resolution be distributed to the President of the United States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate of each state’s legislature of the United States of America, and each member of the Oklahoma Congressional Delegation.
And I, being of sound heart and mind, do pledge my life to defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies both foreign and within.

not likely. these unbelievably fat morons are far too cowardly to attempt literal secession, unfortunately. they talk a big game but when push comes to shove they really don't have a problem with the current state of government -- not when there's sweet, sweet stimulus money to be had.

say what you will about jefferson davis and his brothers-in-treason but at least they had the balls to fight when uncle sam wanted to take their house negroes away. the people in today's south can't even mount a coherent movement against a black president with Hussein for a middle name. they're about 20 lightyears away from armed rebellion, unless you count dickless hand-wringing on the internet as arms

What people aren't realizing is that the original version of this bill (which was vetoed) was issued in June of 2008, back when George W. Bush was president. So, it was really red states defending themselves against the tyranny of the president they voted to elect.

If this is passed, I say good riddance. Oklahomans were a bunch of fuckin' panhandlers. (THANK YOU, THANK YOU).

It doesn't seem to me that you read the legislation... They are asserting that the federal government stop oppressing states and abusing its authority by treating the states as agents of the federal government, when the federal government is supposed to be a representative body of the states. The federal government has become a monster... it needs to be killed
wake up. This is the end game.
