I disagree with this as strategy --not luck-- is a huge factor in this game. Your dice fate is something that always has to be considered when plotting the next move. To succeed, the aqusition of armies and their careful deployment combined with some patient tactics is required. The skill is being everywhere at once to take advantage of someone's bad luck and blocking to increase someone's chances of bad luck. it is mostly, and more frequently based on pure bad luck of the opponent right before you!
more than 85% of the games being won in standard escalating games were based on this scenario, and no matter how much you complain about the CC dice nothing is being done.
if you check my last 20 games, you will see how many times someone apologized for unreal bad rolls that were out of proportion, out of logic and out of anything you would expect!
is this how risk is supposed to be played? wait for the misfortune of someone??
true there are some good moves that you applaud, some nice tactics that you learn from but those never resulted in a complete win!
it happened that I play other servers based on random dice and I have to admit, randomness in CC is far far bitter than any other server I played in:
- 7+ streak rolls of 6 is unreal and not applicable in real life unless player is cheating or is santa!
- an army of 25 vanishing in front of an army of 5 should happen maybe once or twice in a million game, it is happening almost on a daily basis in CC!
- etc...
is there something that can be done to make the rolls less illogical?
is there a solution or the server is doomed to this bitterness?
