Dictator [ON HOLD!]

Post by Merker »

CURRENTLY ON HOLD (stopped current developement)

Alright, Hello, well, awhile back I was thinking something along the lines of controlling your own country and being able to control education, housing and stuff like that and I tried thinking of a system and it just wasn't able. Then I saw Research & Conquer, I didn't quite get it's system, but I got an  .

I haven't worked it all quite out yet, but first, you have to be elected leader of your country, then you can open up airforces(ability to bombard), army(ability to cross country borders), navy(ability to attack seas and rivers), Schools(1+ for smarter soldiers, can be upgraded) and so on.

To win, you must capture something in the middle, btw, YOU CAN NOT BE ELIMINATED, so this makes for long games. Although people might get trapped.

IDEAS
Market (bonus + additional attack routes?)
Assasin (bombardment of Dictators actions)
Some sort of need to get resources/advance to a new era or something ( Get territory A to attack primary dictator actions then get territory B to get secondary dictator actions)

The idea of my map is too make you able to control and govern your country and/or invade others.

I'll come up with a little draft soon.

I kind of like the idea of it, just maybe develop it a little further before I can comment

The concept is good, and I really like the build-an-army concept behind it.

be very careful with the "pplayers can't be eliminated" concept... putting it into practice is difficult. Just ask the maker of Das Schlos.

Well thanks guys...I'll toy with the being eliminated idea it's just that'd it'd be strange for an enemy opening up your army and getting elected in your own country and so on, but I'm worried about people getting trapped in the Election system so yeah.

Thanks SailorSeal and Mr Benn.

perhaps you could "assassinate" a weakened opponent? for instance there's one square that can only be bombarded by a space specifically for allowing assassination? [wait... did i just suggest bombardment? :? ] that would allow a player to be eliminated, but taking the space wouldn't allow the other player to gain anything so it's only useful if you can actually kill your opponent that way. and if the space is far enough along the "politics" tree or tech tree, it won't happen too early in the game. just an idea, run with it or ignore it i'm not even sure how good it is.

A killer neutral as an assassin would work quite nicely :-k

Im liking the bombarding idea. I'd say a place for bombardment would be the capital possibly? Maybe each country would have an historicaly* annexed territory be place of this bombardment.

*Not in game.

I like this idea, maybe start in one territory and players can gain control of their empire by conquering education/military and eventually meeting the opposition in the international market perhaps?
I think a lot of the gameplay would need fleshing out but I like the concept!

Ahhh, A market, I like it. Maybe you could control the market and you get a bonus or something.

I'll just put up a list of ideas and it can be as said will be fleshed out.
