Yeah, heaven forbid a minority who represent 50% of the impoverished in the country who know they are going to be fucked by his intolerant, over-privileged self have a say and try to get someone in who may give a rats ass about and try to help them in the office instead.GabonX wrote:HA!mpjh wrote:witness how people of color voted against his party in droves once given a real choice.
The last election could be interperated as a sign of the new racism which is sweeping this country!
Are you talking about Obama? How naive are you. Obama doesn't give a shit about minorities. If he did, he wouldn't be canning the voucher system in D.C. public schools. He would want every child to have access to the same schools that his kids do. What he does give a shit about is Teachers unions and labor unions.lgoasklucyl wrote:Yeah, heaven forbid a minority who represent 50% of the impoverished in the country who know they are going to be fucked by his intolerant, over-privileged self have a say and try to get someone in who may give a rats ass about and try to help them in the office instead.GabonX wrote:HA!mpjh wrote:witness how people of color voted against his party in droves once given a real choice.

What horrible racism they're exhibiting...
Right... Because the voucher program gives every child access to expensive private schools. Mmm-hmm.captain.crazy wrote:Obama doesn't give a shit about minorities. The pilot program that he just shut down was highly successful. Yes, if he gave the average 7,500 bucks to each family / per kid, instead of passing them through the government run failure of a school system, the children would benefit, instead of our corrupt teachers unions.StiffMittens wrote:Right... We did the numbers on this in a different thread and the available funds for the voucher program would only help a couple of thousand kids as opposed to the tens of thousands in the D.C. public school system (I think the number was 86,000 students). You want to help EVERY child in that system, then fix the public schools.captain.crazy wrote:The pilot program that he just shut down was highly successful. Yes. Absolutely yes. take those kids out of the failing bullshit government school program and put them in successful ones. You think this is a bad idea?StiffMittens wrote:We did the numbers on this in a different thread and the available funds for the voucher program would only help a couple of thousand kids as opposed to the tens of thousands in the D.C. public school system (I think the number was 86,000 students). If you take all the kids out of public schools, and then give them money towards private schools, the private schools become the public schools. Great solution.captain.crazy wrote:Yes. Now you're catching on... only, there is no federal mandate... no federal intervention... the schools are free to implement their own philosophies. Diversity is key, the homogenized approach to education fails because one style of education pressed by the government obviously doesn't work.Timminz wrote:If you take all the kids out of public schools, and then give them money towards private schools, the private schools become the public schools. Yeah, when that style is No Child Left Behind.captain.crazy wrote:Now you're catching on... only, there is no federal mandate... no federal intervention... the schools are free to implement their own philosophies. You are obviously a borderline retarded product of the public school system. You can't fix our broken ass public school system, because it would mean actually paying teachers appropriately, motivating them to actually teach by abolishing their teachers unions and holding them liable for the educations that they provide and getting the federal system out of the way of real teaching. You would also have to get parents to discipline their kids so that they are not disruptive to children that actually do want to learn. This needs to be done without medicating students into a stupor. Our government in incapable of accomplishing this. But a private system can. They don't have to take kids that are disruptive... if you don't follow the rules, you're out... no refund... b-bye.StiffMittens wrote:Yeah, when that style is No Child Left Behind.captain.crazy wrote:Now you're catching on... only, there is no federal mandate... no federal intervention... the schools are free to implement their own philosophies. The real point is that I think you're fooling yourself if you think that moving all the students out of public schools and into private ones is going to result in better schooling (certainly not overnight). I mean we're talking about 80,000 students in the DC area alone. How are the private schools going to handle that massive influx of students? You'll just have the exact same problems: Too many students per class, not enough teachers, not enough money to pay for the teachers you do have, not enough funding for classroom supplies, etc. What are you going to do? Hire all the public school teachers to handle the extra load? How will you pay for them government subsidies? You're talking about creating a public school system. We already have one. It needs some work. Fix it.
We weren't even talking about the Obama election, get your shit together before you join an argument.captain.crazy wrote:

Hey, while we are on the topic of what he does give a shit about, did you know the he is half white... Partially German in fact. That almost explains why he is half way Nazi. He and Hitler will go down in history as the socialist totalitarian brothers.
they LOVED Hitler in Germany before 1942. He was going to fix their economy, make them safe... elevate Germany to a world power... sounds like the same shit to me. And that which you call a CLASS issue, sure does help a log of black folk, now don't it.lgoasklucyl wrote:We weren't even talking about the Obama election, get your shit together before you join an argument.captain.crazy wrote:

We were referring to the voting statistics back when the idiot was elected, not the apparent election when he ran against Obama that apparently you think happened for some reason...
The issue you mention is a) not necessarily an issue of racism (if Bush wasn't racist due to Katrina, don't any of you ignorant bastards try to bring Obama down to his level), as it's a CLASS of people not a RACE being affected by vouchers, and b) THE VOUCHER SYSTEM DIED IN MARCH, along with issues pertaining to the idiotic Gag Rule, International Gag Rule, and eventually DUMA (the most idiotic bill ever written, nevermind passed...).
Oh yeah... Hitler and Obama, practically the same person.
You sure have your shit together....

Awww, what's the matter? Did mommy lock you in the patriot safe because you didn't do all your eugenics lessons? I guess I can see how you might have to come to your point of view sitting all alone in the dark with nothing but the smell of oil and gunpowder to comfort you, but out here in the real world classism is generally not considered a useful contribution to the negotiation of the social contract.captain.crazy wrote:You are obviously a borderline retarded product of the public school system. I would propose a phasing solution where students can register with their voucher for a private school, but if they cannot get in one, because their parents didn't get off their lazy asses and register their student in a timely fashion or because the student is such a f*ck up that they could not get in because of prior history of shenanigans, then they can stay in the shit hole public school system, where only the dregs of society are accepted. Over time, the natural demand for more schools will cause more schools to open and accept the teachable overflow of actual students. That way, everyone can have a school to call their own.

I thought that vouchers were useful to allow children to go to private schools whose families could not otherwise send them to private school because of financial reasons? If anything, not having vouchers leads to classism because the rich all go to better schools and the poor all go to public schools.Shivas wrote:Now that the Wanda thread has worked its way over to something I finally know something about let me add this. Any type of vouchers for private schools, schools of choice, or anything else that allows the movement of students to whatever type of school, in my opinion, is no more than a class and economic segregation. Families that can afford to transport their children can and will take advantage of this choice to what they perceive as "better" schools. The families that cannot will be left at their neighborhood school. Good or bad. Any private school that accepts federal, state or local monies (read vouchers) is a public school and provide public education in my opinion.
