Seriously listen to me now. I own my own company. It is a software company. My clients include Governments and Blue chips. Okay?

Right... so why, when I email you to tell you how you could make a ton of money from this place do you reply once and then essentially forget about it?

Seriously, is this a business to you people or not because raking in a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year in subs is just not cutting it from a business perspective?

Your money though.

Just to add to this, I would have thought "are Conquer Club stupid?" to be bad grammar, too.

"Is Conquer Club stupid?"

Or, to expand even further, "are CC's STAFF stupid?" would be just perfect.

it's a nice blow but i think he is in fact correct. He is talking about CC as a group of people. Maybe "Are the runners of CC stupid?" would be more clear but that is the message we are supposed to infer.

Otherwise with: "Is CC stupid", it would imply that an aspect of the site mechanics/structure is incorrect... or maybe even that our visiting it is stupid. "Is coming to CC a stupid waste of all ours times?"

I do agree that it is quite a grammatical quandary.

I reckon a trickier question, it being a rhetorical question and all, does "Are CC stupid?" need a '?' ? or would a '!' do?

I think that both
"Seriously, is this a business to you people, or not?"
and
"Seriously, is this a business to you people or not?"
are acceptable.

I could allow this, seeing how the 'CCs' could be interpreted as "Are Conquer-Clubbers stupid?"; so long as it had a apostrophe before the 's'.

You are correct andy. It is a fun and indirect way of criticizing the post. They are using satire, rather than directly making fun of the thread by saying something like this. "I'm really important and a great business man. When CC doesn't continue a dialogue with me it hurts my feelings and makes me feel less important. So I'm going to post that they are stupid, and that will again make me feel better than them."

So rather than say something like that, people just make fun of the thread by spending more time talking about the grammar then the actual post.

Actually, his grammar could be viewed to be completely correct. It's certainly a very common usage in sports, though I'm not sure if it's really used to refer to companies and the like.

Personally Dysonsphere has been around a long time. People do enjoy this site you know. Why not wanting to help make it better than playing stupid grammar police. Post something worth a damn every once in a while and people might take you serious.
