I would have also accepted "Are CCs stupid?"pmchugh wrote:That should be "Is CC stupid?"
Just to add to this, I would have thought "are Conquer Club stupid?" to be bad grammar, too.e_i_pi wrote:I would have also accepted "Are CCs stupid?"pmchugh wrote:That should be "Is CC stupid?"
Do you mind adding a comma, or even a question mark in there? For easier comprehension of your post, I recommend:dysonsphere wrote:Seriously, is this a business to you people or not because raking in a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year in subs is just not cutting it from a business perspective?

I could allow this, seeing how the 'CCs' could be interpreted as "Are Conquer-Clubbers stupid?"; so long as it had a apostrophe before the 's'.e_i_pi wrote:I would have also accepted "Are CCs stupid?"
You are correct andy. It is a fun and indirect way of criticizing the post. They are using satire, rather than directly making fun of the thread by saying something like this. "I'm really important and a great business man. When CC doesn't continue a dialogue with me it hurts my feelings and makes me feel less important. So I'm going to post that they are stupid, and that will again make me feel better than them."AndyDufresne wrote:I feel like this is turning into a topic for the Grammer and Spelling Nazis Usergroup.

I did post a link to this thread in the Sub-ForumAndyDufresne wrote:I feel like this is turning into a topic for the Grammer and Spelling Nazis Usergroup.

To be fair, the OP was asking for it when he was asking a question about something being stupid with incorrect grammar.AndyDufresne wrote:I feel like this is turning into a topic for the Grammer and Spelling Nazis Usergroup.

lmfao, i was just about to say that. only so many people can correct his grammar. but, if you are going to call someone stupid, do it without sounding stupid yourselfAndyDufresne wrote:I feel like this is turning into a topic for the Grammer and Spelling Nazis Usergroup.

Actually, his grammar could be viewed to be completely correct. It's certainly a very common usage in sports, though I'm not sure if it's really used to refer to companies and the like.nagerous wrote:To be fair, the OP was asking for it when he was asking a question about something being stupid with incorrect grammar.AndyDufresne wrote:I feel like this is turning into a topic for the Grammer and Spelling Nazis Usergroup.

Why do you care? Oh also, can you get me a pizza? I'm hungry. Thanks, bye.dysonsphere wrote:Seriously listen to me now. I own my own company. It is a software company. My clients include Governments and Blue chips. Okay?
Right... so why, when I email you to tell you how you could make a ton of money from this place do you reply once and then essentially forget about it?
Seriously, is this a business to you people or not because raking in a couple of hundred thousand dollars a year in subs is just not cutting it from a business perspective?
Your money though.

Take your idea and make yourself rich!
Stupid is, is what stupid does.

heheh Christ Bruce, that is a tricky passage to comprehend! it's like making sense of Yoda, doing a press conference about I-Ranian Precedent Armoureddinnerjacket and his Nucular threat... in the style of George W Bush.Bruceswar wrote:GENERAL STONEHAM wrote:My GOD! Personally Dysonsphere has been around a long time. People do enjoy this site you know. Why not wanting to help make it better than playing stupid grammar police. Post something worth a damn every once in a while and people might take you serious.
Granted that this may be true, I fail to see the relevance of the fact to this discussion, be the discussion of his grammar OR of his idea for the CC business/site.Bruceswar wrote:Personally Dysonsphere has been around a long time.
Stipulation granted, I'm one of those people. Again, I fail to see the relevance.Bruceswar wrote:People do enjoy this site you know.
1> We ARE The Spelling and Grammar Nazis. Which part of our user group name did you fail to understand? Why does our collective name make you feel we don't want Conquer Club to be a better place? We most certainly do, we'd like it to be a place where people can actually COMPREHEND what is written in the forums.Bruceswar wrote:Why not wanting to help make it better than playing stupid grammar police.
