Word War [Basic Idea - POLL]

Post by dolomite13 »

Based on another thread I created this draft map.

The basic concept is to make a map that is loosely based on scrabble. The map I created to get started with has one of every letter except vowels which there are two of.

I believe that the standard 1 per 3 territory bonus is fine for the basic map however when you hold the words on the right you will get bonuses. The double and triple tiles may be associated with specific words or with every word, I am not sure yet.

I was hoping blank tiles could replace one of any letter in a word. But could be difficult to implement with the xml. Maybe through continent inside a continent I will explore the options.

We need some good words but every letter in the alphabet does not need to be represented in a word.

Anyway I will work on the basics again this week sometime if the map has support. Please let me know if I should continue.

I've seen this idea before in the form of scrabble and a computer keyboard. I think its slightly interesting, but probably doesn't have the appeal that would be necessary to go through the full foundry process, IMO

That's possible. Just thought I would toss it out there and see what people think. After all, it is quite similar to how the poker club map works.
