I'm assuming that we would just move on to nighttime without anyone getting lynched.

-Prods-

Prodding:
Hologram
Simon Viavant

Anyone who doesn't post within 48 hours of their prod will be replaced.

-Deadline-
I'm setting a deadline to expire 7 days and 12 hours from the time of this post.

Rule 11, the rule governing deadlines, has been changed to this:
I will not set a deadline at the start of each day, but I will set a deadline if I feel that no progress is being made. At deadline, the player with the most votes is lynched. If two or more people are tied with the highest number of votes, whoever received the tied number of votes first is lynched.

Sorry guys, been a bit busy.

Anyway,
First of all, no lynch on day one is bad, and voting for a townie because they're not a very good townie is also bad.

So far pie seems the shifty one, he's been active enough but hasn't really said anything.

why's everyone so quiet? We need some more discussion.

That's the same thing he has done in my other game with him. It could be because he is trying not to stick his neck out too far, or it could be because he, like most of us in this game, is a newbie and just doesn't know how to play too well.

Maybe Hologram being replaced will get things moving again.

At least it'll give us someone new to talk to. Maybe he can figure out who the mafias are.

Right now it's pretty hard to guess who's mafia.

I'm not a veteran by any means, but I've played mafia here for a little while and the regulars emit mafia and town vibes that you begin to pick up after a while, but it doesn't work as well with new people, so in this case I think I'll go for the lurkers.

I'm thinking that since it is a newbie game, someone will make an obvious mistake that will prove them to be scum. With there being so many new members it is bound to happen. We just need to be looking for it when it happens.

-Replacement-

Stroop replaces Hologram

Deadline is in about 5 days and 12 hours from the time of this post. I can extend it if I see plenty of activity, but right now, that just isn't happening.

Confirm.

vote -1 - because I get his name... (plus I wanted to random vote before getting serious)

Mr. Squirrel has said a lot of useless stuff and now he intends to sit back until someone makes a mistake. Sitting back prevents him from making any mistakes himself, but his comment makes people think he wants to catch scum.

So unvote vote Mr. Squirrel

Well, it's kind of hard to say anything useful when you have no posts from anyone else to go by. Right now, sitting back is the only option since I have no info to go on.

There's several pages of posts you can look at and simply looking at your posts got us to discuss useful stuff.

Sitting back is a scum tactic. You do nothing to attract attention to you and when someone leads the town into a poor lynch, you silently hop onto the bandwagon.

Welcome stroop! Hopefully you'll be around a bit more :)

Not trying to disagree with you here, but can you expand on your thoughts?

I probably agree with the day one thing, because you need some evidence early on. I can see that later in the game there may be situations where no vote is the best option, but overall its still a tough call. You are probably right that voting now is important.

There is not a ton of evidence, but I will point a finger of suspicion at stroop. I'm not sure that a replacement would have happened on day one for someone without a night role (of course I could be wrong about that hypothesis). By that logic, if stroop has a night role there's a 2/3 chance that it is mafia based on these possibilities:
The setup is still C9, meaning one of the following setups was chosen randomly:
2 mafia, 1 cop, 1 doctor, 3 vanilla townies
2 mafia, 1 cop, 4 vanilla townies
2 mafia, 1 doctor, 4 vanilla townies
2 mafia, 5 vanilla townies
Then again, if he is in the 1/3 that is good (doctor or cop) we would be REALLY wise to not lynch him :? Just rambling...

Thanks! And with a FOS right away too, what a warm welcome it is.

A replacement happens for anyone that is inactive in the game, power role or not. They often get a prod (which Holo got) and if they don't post soon after that, they're out.

I think we could call out e_i_pi on that one.
He only has two posts that actually count for anything in this thread (the third is just a question on rules). He has only had one quick vote with a wild accusation, then an unvote. No real participation in our discussions.

Hasn't really done much in this thread, other than those two posts.

-Vote Count-

sully800-1, (Simon Viavant)
Simon Viavant-1, (Hopscotcher)
No Lynch-1, (wcaclimbing)
Mr. Squirrel-1, (Stroop)

Not Voting: sully800, Mr. Squirrel, e_i_pi

With 7 alive, it's 4 to lynch.

Simon Viavant and wcaclimbing both forgot to Unvote before voting, so their votes were not counted.

Jeepers, I rotate from day shifts onto night shifts, forget about the mafia game, and suddenly everyone votes for me? I suppose working, or talking about it, or posting in the thread, or having a vowel in my name is scum tactics too

Actually, screw the vote no ynch, I just noticed SV jumping on a bandwagon, which is apparently a scummy thing to do. Let's all forget about that though eh? Spankers...

Unvote No Lynch

Vote Simon Viavant

Quick vote with a wild accusation? Let's see, what was this wild accusation? Oh yes, that's right, wca jumping on a bandwagon. I wouldn't be surprised if you and SV are the scum in this game, given the way you follow each other around with posts and votes. It's a pity I can only vote once
