I just don't like the concept itself, to be honest. About the only way I can even REMOTELY stand the concept is in an AD&D-type setting where it's swords and bows.Minister Masket wrote:I dare you to play Bioshock and say that again.Woodruff wrote:

Lol State of Emergency. What was that all about?Frigidus wrote:Haha, I said Assassin's Creed. I remember that being half me being enraged at being unable to play the game I'd just spent $40 on and half wanting to troll people who all over it's junk. Turned out I could get it working by turning off my connection to the internet. Still not sure why that was.
A better choice, perhaps, would be State of Emergency. So much hype over such a steaming turd of a game. Naturally, I don't mention any of the ridiculous Barbie Gameboy games, or anything to that extent.
I suppose I went into Army of Two thinking there would be more badass teammate strategy going on. It just seemed like more of the same to me. Gears of War did it much better, imo.pimpdave wrote:That ET game SUCKED.Neoteny wrote:I think that old ET game usually tops most lists like this... And Army of Two was really good for the time... it was one of the first 360 games. Also, if you're not playing it with a partner, yeah, it's kind of boring, but otherwise, what are you talking about?
Also, the star wars Force Unleashed isn't at all what it was hyped to be. I only get to be Darth Vader for ONE LEVEL???

Once you graduate to rapid-firing weapons, the idea just becomes...dumb and MIND-NUMBINGLY REPETITIVE.

That game fuckin sucked.
It is a decent game, it just gets REALLY repetitive. It starts out fun, then you learn what each of your skills are for, and then you really don't do much of anything new in combat, walls, etc. Once you learn the counter kill with the knife or sword, it is fun the first 12 dozen times, as you get to see the 3-4 different ways you counter kill someone with either weapon, and then, nothing changes.hecter wrote:Assassin's Creed worked perfectly on my computer... I'm a hard-core gamer and have been since the early 80s, so I certainly have a lot of experience with both good and bad games, which includes a lot of first-person shooters, unfortunately. I would say therefore that the basis of my opinion IS a healthy one. I admit that I don't care for the style, and that is because it always devolves into EXTREME repetition, in my opinion. Just because I don't happen to agree with you doesn't make my opinion worthless.

It really seems to me that you are implying that he really hasn't given them a fair shot...hecter wrote:As a fan of FPS's, I don't really like people saying that the entire genre is the worst game ever, but the guy has clearly made up his mind. Personally, I find lots of them to be quite fun, Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Quake, Unreal Tournament, even the Halo franchise. I mean, in HL2, you've got the very unique gravity gun, in TF2 you've got the awesome team-play and lots of fun classes, L4D, amazing co-op experience, and can you really dis a game that lets you BE the zombies? Quake and Unreal, just generally runny shooty fun, as is Halo. But, I trust that Woodruff has given them a fair shot and didn't just quite after Doom and Wolfenstein.
I'll add sports games (hockey, soccer, football) to the list.

TBH neither can I. I like Racing games and Tennis, which fit into the sports category, so...Neoteny wrote:See, I can't pick a worst genre. I've liked a game in every genre I can think of. That wasn't a reference to MinisterMasket at all...I suggest you try to take another English class, as your last one seems to have failed you. That's my question!
When you said "Once you graduate to rapid-firing weapons, the idea just becomes...dumb and MIND-NUMBINGLY REPETITIVE." it was pretty insulting to MM.
Why would you be so harsh?

While you're working on your interpretation of the English language, look up the word "inference".Woodruff wrote:That wasn't a reference to MinisterMasket at all...I suggest you try to take another English class, as your last one seems to have failed you.
