Another Wings win. 2 of the goals came from guys who spent the season in the minors. Detroit is just that deep. Seriously, anyone think Pittsburgh is going to win four of the next five? Detroit is in the driver's seat.

Home ice is what it is... and if the Penguins can hold up their end it stays interesting.

The Wings are right where people expected them to be... only one top seed has given up a game on home ice to start the Cup Finals in the last forty years.
So, does anyone have an opinion on how lax the penalizing has been? I understand the "let them play" sentiment, but there has been a lot of interfering on both sides that have made me go "wtf?!" I imagine it's more frustrating for the Pens fans.
Good or bad?

I'd rather see a low penalized game than a lot of the ticky-tac penalties that you see called. Some of the non-calls have me scratching my head, but if they're going to be consistent about it, I'm cool with it. Hockey needs consistency more than anything.

This stat is false. You might be trying to say that "Teams that win Games 1 and 2 at home have captured the Cup 31 of 32 times."
edit the second - End of the first. 2-2. Other than a 3, or 4 minute stretch in the middle of the period, this is looking like a totally different series.
Hey Serbia... what I was referring to is 39 of the last 40 Stanley Cups the home ice has prevailed in game one. Chicago was the team to take a game one against Montreal long ago.
Well I am glad the Penguins won a game. Would love to see it go to 7. Hate lopsided finals....they suck, then it would be just a stupid series between flying tires and swimming birds.

They were down 2-0 against Washington, came back to win the series in 7. Don't count them out just yet.

The Wings aren't the Caps. But Detroit looks dead. We need Datsyuk back, pronto!
Now we have ourselves a real series. It was bizarre to watch the Red Wings play that badly (or were the Penguins just playing so fantastic?) Anyway, I thought that Detroit gave up psychologically after Pittsburgh scored a short-handed goal during that power play. You could see it on their faces.

That's very true...Detroit doesn't have to win on the road and Pittsburgh does.

It did. Getting Datsyuk back was absolutely huge for Detroit. (I haven't had internet over the weekend, only just got back online tonight) I am now confident that the Wings will win in 6.
