Yes, when I was toddler and believed what I was told. Back then, I also believed in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, ghosts, Dracula, werewolves, Frankenstein's monster, etc.

... and felt the presence of God in your life. Have you ever experienced divine intervntion... Have you ever spoken honestly to God, and heard His answers...

Not sure what you mean by "base all of your existence", but I would say that I base my beliefs (and therefore my actions) on my observations of the temporal and my thoughts about anything I have ever perceived (which includes other's opinions of that which is eternal as well as my own musings over that which might be eternal). I am not an atheist. But I do not believe that any religious scripture (that I am aware of) is an accurate description of the nature of the universe.

I will ask you again to share your spiritual beliefs, but will also ask you to expand on your thoughts on the nature of the universe, since I think that you may not have spiritual beliefs...

Well, since you ask, I don't really have any beliefs that I consider spiritual in nature. I do not know what the universe is, but I have heard a variety of descriptions of the universe that range from religious to scientific to pointlessly hypothetical. So far, my opinion is that the scientific community is doing a pretty good job describing the way the universe operates, but don't really offer much in the way of why it is. Any religious doctrine that I have come in contact with strikes me as archaic and rife with contradictions and all too often smelling of snake oil. So I simply try to live my life in a way that seems sensible to me (mainly based on secular ideas of morality and scientific ideas of natural order). And thus the closest thing I have to a spiritual belief is "don't shit where you eat" or "try not be an asshole."

1. I apologize if what I said was condescending. In my defense, I try, and generally succeed in avoiding any such thing and keeping my tone above reproach, but due to the irony of the situation, where theists in these threads are constantly characterized as ignorant, unthinking, closed-minded zombies who believe in the tooth fairy and that the earth is flat, I couldn't resist a little dig. Stiffmittens, If you never indulge in that, then I apologize doubly to you. I don't intend to search your posting history to see if that's necessary; we're on the honor system.

2. It would be weird for me to complain that the condescension contest is hijacking the thread, because this whole "omnipotence" branch has hijacked it. I'll start another, edit a little bit, and let's start over.
