It seems like the fair and just solution is that if you earned a medal for graphics, gameplay, XML, or whatever in regards to a map, it should just count as a map contribution medal across the board. I say the best way to do it is to make your Top 5 list based on the total number of medals that person has, regardless of the reasoning behind why they got it in the first place. Map development incorporates many different aspects. With the graphic designer, it wouldn't look good, without the person to write the XML it wouldn't play at all because it literally wouldn't work.

Just my two cents.

I agree with this. If someone has X amount of medals that should be what counts towards the total tally. I don't think it is my place, qwert place, or anyone elses place to decided what medals do and don't count for a member.

For mapmaking, the only two realistic ways of doing it are a) Mapmaking Medals, or b) Names on Maps.

Medals is easy to do, and makes most sense.

Names on maps.... you could include anybody who has their name on a map as a creator/signature/contributor/special thanks/territory name. For the most part this would likely be similar to the medals total, although gimil gets a mention on Madagascar, Wicked gets a mention on Madness, etc. etc. etc.

well OP, this is what I was thinking and had in mind the 1st time I wanted to recognize all the map makers and their hard work and making CC awesome, but qwert disagreed, and i figured he knew more about maps then me obviously, but if a majority of you agree, then I will go by my original idea of most medals by map makers.

sounds like OP, andy, gimil, mr benn and others agree with this, so this is what i will do.


It will just take me some time to find the top 5 map makers with most medals, but I got a good list to start out with.

I reraly want to know why 6 people get medals for Classic Art,that why im not counting these medals,because its not fair for all others map makers, who for much biger job get max 2 medal. Ofcourse for yours CA Clan is good that nobody know who work what on these map. But i dont want to waste mine energy on you, Blitz do like CA and Andy say, because they every time correct, and again mine view is wrong(why im not supprised)

exactly, been over a month, i think 5 weeks now, I am not sure why gilligan is the only one that can update it? It is a lot of work and should be shared by 2 or 3 people. just my 2 cents

well qwert, I am trying to be open and fair here, I here your suggestion, but when gimil, op, ca, andy, mr.benn, etc. when a majority is saying give the map makers credit by medals, well, I just going with majority rules. again, I hear you qwert-validation, ok, and i do not know the map making details like you all, hence, this is why i asked other who are more experienced, most are saying go by the medals, if this is ok, I think I will do it this way, unless many others start objecting.

I must say,that you must check very carefull who get medal for what.
Rule is that only 2 medal can be awarded for creating a map,but in some cases(i think that these is not right) 6 people get medal for creating a map(Classic Art). Who realy deserve medal for work on these map,its still mistery for many map makers,except for these 6 people who know exactly who work what.These is not correct,and i will not count these medals.
Also i think that you need to create new category-Top 5 XML Developers,because you now have in your list only people who not create any graphic on map,and work only in XML development(Yeti,C).These will be more correct.

I am not sure how they work that either, but I am sure they are being fair and honest.
