Bitching about Dice

I'm sick of all the bitching about how bad the dice are. If they are bad for you, that means they had to be good for someone. I don't see anybody complaining when they win 15 to 0. It's just like in poker - you remember the bad beats clearly but totally forget when you won a hand you shouldn't have. So next time you feel like bitching about how you lost so many troops to blah blah blah just remember that you have done the same thing to some other poor schlup.

Actually I do remember a guy saying he has played many games, and he was complaining that he would get too lucky sometimes, and he felt that was the reason he won the game.

I'm pretty sure people are complaining more about the streaks then the dice themselves. It's great winning a day or to on a good streak. But when you're on a losing streak for a week straight and you notice the odds like 15 vs 1 and you can't take that invincible army out. or you attack 80 vs 40 and the opponent still has 20 left. And your opponents dice in every game are on fire and it happens every game for a week that's when the frustration kicks in.
When strategy becomes obsolete and the dice decide all is when the bitching starts.

I don't think I would complain in that situation, but I like to think I would graciously acknowledge in the game chat the role of luck in my victory. I believe I actually did once.

I must confess when I get ridiculous dice I do post in game chat stating my bad luck.

But I'm always ready to admit that I get terrific dice sometimes.

Example. I lose a 7 v 1 but win a 12 v 13 with 1 loss.

when you lose a game because a defending dice gets a 6-6 5 times streak, and you lose the game after that illogical dice?

is it?

when you lose 11 armies in the 1st round trying to card on 1 land with 1 army?

when you lose 12 games streak because the dice always forbid from eliminating an opponent with auto cash while you have great immense army advantage?


it is not for me anymore.
Out of all risk based games this by far the worst dice ever and I don't need to burn my nerves over it cause simply... it is not fun anymore.

People will always complain no matter how many of these posts you make, just as people will always go through bad streaks of dice no matter how much they complain.

I don't like any acknowledgment of luck in a game, especially when the other team is about to win. When people complain about the dice, it sounds like they are saying, "you shouldn't have won, im better than you. The only reason you won is luck". That's just arrogant. And don't get me wrong, im arrogant, but I don't want to degrade someones victory by complaining about the dice. They may have won anyway.

When someone kills 9 with a 5 stack and advances 4, and then goes on to win the game, I say, "gg".

One bad roll, most people can deal with, but when you string together 20 or so, it is bound to come out somewhere and it is generally not pretty. I take dice complaints for what they are. Just that. I do not let them work me up.

Just because you don't see it does not mean that it does not happen.

I have complained many times when I attack a 12 with a 13 and I advance 12, or whatever similar circumstance.

It pisses me off when this happens because I know that it means that it will happen to me in reverse (which it always does).

Games should not be won or lost with bullshit dice like this.

Oh come on chip... lets not get into the stats of it all. I am just saying what happens here. Personally I have come to realize the dice are what they are, but with that said we all get a bit mad at the dice sometimes.

I have noticed that the bad streaks only happen when I am fighting paying players and my good streaks are against neutral and non-paying players. I read the Game Log very carefully and have deduced several circumstances where paying players took several territories with multiple defending armies and lose only one or two armies.

I have a couple of non-paying friends who have noticed the same thing. I would love to get feedback from a paying player after they have checked for this differential in their games. Theoretically, you should do better against non-paying players and have true balanced rolls against other paying players if I am correct that some bonus has been programmed in.
