I am, in fact, NOT convinced that Satan does not exist. In fact, I truthfully hold no positive or negative position on it. I simply hold that it cannot be proven and have taken up the opposing position as a means to bring out "the proof" that the other poster claims to have.mtodd0004 wrote:Much Ado About Nothing: this off topic section is aptly named.
A poster posits the existence of Satan. Another poster denies the existence of Satan.
The poster who started this thread is making much ado about someone, who may or may not exist, but he/she is convinced does. The other poster is making much ado about someone, who may or may not exist, but he/she is convinced does not.
That's cool. I apologize.Woodruff wrote:I simply hold that it cannot be proven and have taken up the opposing position as a means to bring out "the proof" that the other poster claims to have.
What if his father's enemy is God?mtodd0004 wrote:...does a four year old need to know who his father's enemy is to trust his Dad?

Agreed.mtodd0004 wrote:That's cool. I apologize.Woodruff wrote:I simply hold that it cannot be proven and have taken up the opposing position as a means to bring out "the proof" that the other poster claims to have.
If one is looking for empirical evidence for Satan, God, angels, heaven, hell, etc., then by definition, one will have few, if any, physical proofs for a spiritual being or place.
I believe the presumption is that "if Satan exists, then God exists, and I win the argument!".mtodd0004 wrote:I disagree with the tact of the poster who started this thread. Did Abraham know of Satan? Does it matter if one does or does not know whether Satan exists?
I would disagree...this depends entirely on the relationship that has been formed between the father and son. I can unfortunately think of many scenarios wherein a four-year-old wouldn't tend to trust his father at all.mtodd0004 wrote:In Christianity, God is described as a father. A believer is described as a child, or adopted son/daughter. Those are physical and cultural terms: father, child, adoption. Does the physical reveal the spiritual? If so, then look at the physical - does a four year old need to know who his father's enemy is to trust his Dad?
No but he needs to know who the enemy is if he comes knockin on the door, which is why i warned my son about cops.mtodd0004 wrote:

Oh, sorry. The 4th reich will not care to include you in their immortal state. You and I will serve only as game in their preserved hunting grounds, I suppose.GabonX wrote:It ruins my dream of merging with technology to become an everlasting immortalcaptain.crazy wrote:How does that riun the dream?
