Hmm, difficult.

I think, ultimately it would be between Citizen of the Galaxy and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
But I am a huge fan, I even bought and read all the way through Us, the Future. and Grumbles from the Grave - and I've even read The Number of the Beast about three times.
Most of the others I've read at least a dozen. I got Tunnel in the Sky from the Children's Book CLub when I was about 9, and have read that until it has quite literally fallen apart.

Please that was obviously a fake darth vader. We all know the real one wears a cup just in case.
In the firt skit, he got punched in the head, and in the second, he got kicked in the ass, how would a cup help?
Maybe my vision's failing me...could have sworn it hit somewhere else. but still obviously a fake vader. as he would have just choke gripped the guy who grabbed the gun and sent the other two flying across the room.

I don't think I've read anything by Robert Heinlein. actually even though i have a moderate interest in the subject of sci-fi the only books I've read that were about the future were a Brave New World and Farenheit 451. I didn't like Brave New World but I did reasonably enjoy Farenheit 451.

Did you read Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court? If that's not SF, I don't know what is.

No but I've heard of the movie called a kid in King Arthur's Court.

I'm very serious in what I've said. The two I mentioned are the only two I can think of. Wiat I remember a third actually, It was called A Wrinkle in Time.

Mark Twain's real name.
Do you know how he chose his pen-name?

Oh duh. Don't quiz me like that i don't know anything about their real names.

I know it has soemthing to do with the river, maybe currents or depth I can't remember exactly.

Right answer. The Mississipi moves about a lot - and knowing where a passage was safe yesterday doesn't mean it's safe today. So you have to "sound" the depth of the river.
In Clemens' s day, you'd do it with a rope. When it was two fathoms (? or maybe yards?) deep, the sounder would call out "Mark Twain!" ( Twain being a word for "two").
He was of course a riverboat man himself for a while, and he remembered the phrase when he was looking for a pen name.

First of all very disappointed in the movement of this thread lately. I mean did you all get abducted since I was last on?

Secondly, I'd like to wish a happy Father's Day to JonestheCurl, Quirk and all other fathers who may see this.

Yeah, it's working better. It starts up much more slowly than before, but once it does get started up, it runs great.
Also, I commend you on your ability to sustain a relationship with someone who lives 5 hours away.

And what a Daddy Day treat I have!
I was carrying sme shopping in, and went round the side of the house for the first time in a while (to take the wine straight to the basement door) - and discovered a whole bunch of wild strawberries in the garden!
