why is this a strange pattern though? to me it seems to be exactly what it would be if a majority of the population would support ahmedinejad...
It's very strange that the government won by the same margain in every area, in some places there is a strong ethnic supprot for the ahmedinejad yet he won by the same margain here as he did in places where he had a significant ethnic disadvantage.
Hell, even if that wasn't the case such a perfect linear graph is statistically and mathematically impossible in any election between any two candidates. You just can't achieve such a result even when the whole country is of the same ethnicity.

Something that I think many overlook is the other two candidates: Karroubi and Razee. ( I forgot the first names.) Karroubi took 0.85% of the vote and was not expected to take much in the first place but Razee only took 1.73% and was predicted in some polls to take about 10 or 15%. One poll even showed him taking more than Ahmadinejad (it showed him taking 30%) and Razee actually has proof of voter fraud. Here is what happened: At 9:47 (military time) Razee was reported to have 633,048 votes. At 13:53 he was reported to have 587,913 votes. His vote total actually went down. Thanks for that JJ, hadn't seen that before. Does that smell or what? Previously the most convincing evidence of fraud I'd seen was the speed of the "counting".
Ofcourse, probably one of the biggest clues to this election possibly not being entirely honest is the fact that several places had a voter turn-out bigger than the actual number of people able to vote.
I mean, a 100% attendance is basically already prove of fraud, but more than 100%??

Supposedly they explain this by saying that people on vacation can vote anywhere.

Yeah I know. But it still doesn't make any goddamn sense.

With regards to street-marches and such I do think they will eventually quit, but the damage to the current regime still exists so it's probably there will be another revolution.
I do hope that the protests will be listened to by the dudes in charge and that they'll reconsider this in fear of alienating a large segment of the population. (Which are the younger generations so a force to be reckoned with in future times) But even if they don't their position is severly weakened and it will only become more weakened.

I can never understand how a military force or police force can use lethal force against it's own people day in, day out. It can't be too hard to shoot over someone's head when instructed to shoot to kill.
