The thread advances much faster than it did once before.

Well it's creeping along at a rate of a few pages a day. I'd still like to see it move a bit faster though.

Catch up posts are the key. Everyone needs to respond to interesting posts while they were away. Actual real time conversations don't happen enough in here.

Yeah, I'm usually posting when at least one other person is on but they don't always post in the thread about something when they're on. Now I realize that they won't always have something to say but a lot of the time it's posts that they wait until later to comment on. by that time, I've usually gone on to something else.

Well, I just read everything since I last posted. It took a long while, which is good, but most of it wasn't very interesting, I have to say.

This'll be my only post before the next stage of the Curl holiday - Rhode Island next.

Cape May is a very fine place, maybe I'll tell you more when I return after the next trip which starts tomorrow.

Sad current Jones family news - my favourite uncle has Altzheimer's, his wife has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which killed her brother last year ( and worries me somewhat because these are close blood relatives) and my sister-in-law is about to have serious surgery to attempt to deal with cancer, following a course of chemo.

I didn't picture you would take the patented autoload lazy way out method.

Well, one of my two horses suffered a very bad injury today. My mom and I were going out to feed them, along with a few other horses we don't own, when we noticed that one of our two, a buckskin mare named Katie, wouldn't leave the small structure that the hay was stored in for the horses to enjoy throughout the day. At first, we thought it was because it was raining outside. However, when my mother went to bring her in so she could eat her breakfast, we dicovered a HUGE gash on her back left leg, almost reaching the bone. Her leg was very swollen. Luckily, it wasn't bleeding actively and she seemed to be able to support her own weight without the injury bothering her too much. Still, it's a VERY bad injury. The vet is going to come and look at it later today. I hope she'll be okay.

If anyone makes a furry joke, I'll rip your fucking lungs out, because I am very concerned right now.

Do you have any idea how she got the gash?

No, no idea. There were a few smaller scratches on her head and back, so we think she might have gotten tangled up in a wire fence or something, but we're not sure at the moment. But we do know that the wound wasn't made by another horse. We'll probably find out eventually, though.

Horses are tough. I think she'll be just fine.

Well, since we first found the wound, the vet came, and gave us instructions on what to do for her every day, and it will take a long time for her to heal - about 6 months or so - but if all goes well, she will indeed be fine. Still, it was a pretty nasty wound, going almost halfway through her leg, and just barely avoiding joint damage.
