Comprehensive collection of historical maps

Came across this and immediately thought it would be a handy reference for conquer club map-makers.

It is quite the impressive collection of historical maps

not bad if you're looking for information about something specific, but you'll need to consult other sources... and the maps look simplistic - no artistic effort whatsoever.

I personally prefer to go back and find original source maps. I've always had the good luck of living near excellent libraries, but my favorite on-line source of maps is http://www.davidrumsey.com
