Jamie, no game at kids levels has all of the things a professional game does. Curling the ball, formations, and swing are not in the game of football for kids, they come in when people have the skill and knowledge. Football as a sport came 140 years ago, as a game it came hundreds of years ago, but a big difference between sport and a game.

now for all you scotland fans that are old enough to remember. 1977 england 1 scotland 2 at wembley, i was 6 and remember after the game that scotland won. all the scotland fans were on the pitch ripping the turf up and sat on the crossbar bouncing up and down, then the crossbar collasped. it was so funny, you could see all the scottish supporters carrying the turf ou of the ground. FANTASTIC

then in 1999 2nd division play off final (now 1st division) gillingham v man city. city getting beat 2-0 with 4 minutes to go and then we score, by that time i was a nervous wreck,(obviously i was there i went down to london without a ticket and got 1 outside)then 5 minutes into injury time paul dickov scored an equaliser, unbeleivable, we went absolutely beserk. extra time had been and gone, then penalties. nicky weaver man city goalie, saved 3 out of 4, paul dickov missed his penalty, but we forgive him for that, because we won. on the way home i was sick with dehydration, because i drank too much alcohol, but it was worth it.

Catching a ball at first base that is going 85 MPH and taking weird bounces in the dirt is the hardest thing Ive ever done in Sports

Curves and dives are swing, not spin. Its the air which moves the ball to the side, or up/down, thus is swing. I've never taken a baseball in the crotch, thankfully, but pretty much any ball at a good speed in the crotch hurts. Cricket balls are much harder then baseballs, especially new balls. Just catching the ball with a bad technique when throwing it in the air can hurt, never mind having it bowled at 70-100mph at you. Also, wicket keepers who have to constantly catch balls at 70-80mph have tremendous skill, because their catching ability, and reactions are amazing. They can catch a ball going 80mph which was going straight, and then edges the bat and flies of in a different direction. At least at first base the ball dusn deflect of anything, its gunna come pretty much straight to you (minus a bit of angle change if it bounces).

Greatest game ever... Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche, March 26, 1997. The Brawl, Darren McCarty beating Claude Lemieux bloody, goalies Mike Vernon and Patrick Roy fighting at center ice, all 10 players on the ice fighting. The game went to OT tied at 5, and McCarty scored the winner. Greatest single hockey game I've seen.

The ball bounces off the dirt, which makes it take all kinds of crazy shit bounces. And pitching does use spin, I should know. And getting hit with a baseball at 80-100 MPH hurts a lot too. Hitting a round baseball squarely with a round bat is pretty hard you have to admit

Cricket fans don't think baseballs spin when pitched??? As a baseball player, and spectator, that is the most absurd thing i have ever heard in my life. Those balls are spinning wickedly. The only pitch that doesn't spin is a knuckleball, and even that pitch flutters wildly. A cut fastball depends on its spin to cut in on a batter. The spin of a baseball moving through the air is what causes it to curve, slide, dip, and any other movement yo can imagine a baseball doing. the spin of a baseball is what causes most foul balls. If you watch slow motion replays of a pitch being thrown, you can see the ball spinning very fast, even though its in slow motion. Trust me, a thrown baseball spins, and the better the pitcher, the more wicked that spin is. Check out Randy Johnson for instance. My god he throws a nasty spinning slider, that causes a batters knees to buckle

I agree that hitting the ball squarely in baseball is hard, and that getting hit by a baseball at top speeds would hurt. I'm just saying that in cricket the ball can move so much more as they have the benefit of the bounce, which can move the ball much more then air alone, making it harder for batsmen to accurately judge the balls movement(which is why Shane Warne is so good).

Six Nations championship 2005, when Wales won the Grand Slam is my favourite sporting moment ever.

Close second is the last game of the 1999 six nations. England were leading Wales 31-25 with only a few minutes left before the final whistle, and were odds on favourites to win the Grand Slam. Then this happened, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph_qG5NY ... ed&search= and we beat England (which is always good) and stopped them from getting the Grand Slam or the Triple Crown (nice bonus) and allowed Scotland to win the championship.

that's my favorite sports moment

lol...actually, I think me favorite is when during Superbowl XXXII John Elway scrambled on 3rd down for 8 yards (in the redzone) and was hit so hard that his body twirled in the air...it's known as "the helicopter"...they scored a touchdown two plays later. They won the game, too. That play is one of many examples of John Elway's dedication to winning at any cost. He wasn't afraid to get physical.

Other moments that I totally enjoyed...
Jason Elam's 63 yard field goal to tie him with Tom Dempsey for longest field goal in history...

when Michael Strahan took down Brett Favre to break the single season sack record in the fourth quarter of the last game of the season(it was pretty obvious that Brett had told the line to let him through, so it was a gift...that was cool of Favre to do for Strahan)...
