This map is extremely unfair to certain setups. I have just started three 8 player games(due to tournament play) and have ended up in reef 7 twice and reef 9 once.
These reefs are far more disadvantaged over the other reefs on the board due to the difficulty of taking bonuses and size of neutrals.
Summary of Reefs....neutral size to get bonus area(easiest take)
1: 2 & 3....then a 5
2: 2 & 3....then a 5
3: 2 & 3....then a 5
4: 1 & 4....then a 4
5: 2 & 1....then a 2 & 3
6: 2 & 3....then a 3 & 5 7: 3, 2 & 3....then a 3 & 5
8: 2 & 3....then a 4 9: 2, 2 & 6....then a 2 & 6

Treasures of Galapagos was published before the introduction of Beta Maps, so has never gone through an "official" period of playtesting. That said, there were some (serious) issues when the map first went into live play which have been resolved. If you want to raise your specific concern, then the best place to do it will be in the map thread in the Foundry: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewto ... 58&t=41258
PB: 2661 | He's blue...If he were green he would die | No mod would be stupid enough to do that

reefs 7 and 9 are clearly disadvantaged IMO
A lot of people like it. Not all maps have to be "even".
