Edit: ahhh i pressed the enlarge image... not really that offensive i think ... from what i know about the scriptures and if they bear any relevance to the actual person then he likely does think we are pretty silly but wouldn't say it ...

the crapping Santa .. well there is at least one Christian culture with a tradition of having a pooping figure in the Nativity scenes... so perhaps it's not quite as universally offensive to Christians as we may imagine.

i am not sure that it's incest as such .. perhaps more a mockery of the ultimate act of narcissism. (and really just the literal depiction of an expression)

anyway, less easy to defend on the grounds of ambiguity but i think Christianity can take it!
for me, being able to take mockery is the sign of strength and self-confidence. It is only religions without those which generally get in a stew about such attempts to rile them.

i truly would not be offended if it were me or you said it was my dad... or perhaps more pertinently as the image above represents a saying. if you drew a picture of a random man in coitus with an older woman and said it's 'jim and his mum' i.e. "Jiminski is a Mother Fucker!" I would not be offended either.

but what this draws in is the blasphemy thing and the perceived responsibility to feel annoyance at this.

The fact is, the one with Santa pooping on Christ could be perceived to mean that capitalism and more specifically what Christmas has become, goes against all which is at the core of the selflessness and opposition to material gain which has been debated to be the message of Christ.
there is also the tradition of 'the shitter' in Catalan Christianity (i'll look for the proper name Caganer) which adds relevance to it.

The last one is more seemingly offensive but actually it is merely a fairly cheap representation of a common saying.

As i say, i think Christianity is mature enough to take these things as they are and not as they think a medieval scholar may have thought they should take them.

Well you're right in much of what you say but remember that religious people have something they call "holy"! Which is just another word for saying that they're uncomfortable with talking about a specific subject! Religion is about faith and faith is easily gained and lost, I build my reality based on proven facts not faith, so I can stand up for and explain my ways of seeing the world! When you depend on faith you're much more fragile because the arguments you use to convince yourself are useless in a logical discussion! That's why most christians doesn't like to talk about religion with someone who isn't religious, and they don't like when their "idols" are being humiliated! If someone would post a picture of a monkey taking a dump on Darwin I would find that hilarious! That's a big difference in religious and atheistic way of thinking, they need to make an effort to not "lose their faith" and keep believing in god, while I never seriously considered the possibility of that "maybe there is a god after all" !

Jim sees what I'm saying. Would people be upset if it was a picture of Jesus eating a pork chop. Pretty much the same thing. It never happened and it would be an infraction of the law. Those pictures are really funny and if you believe I posted them out of pure hatred, you're way of the mark, they made me laugh and I want to share pictures that makes me laugh , if people don't have the same sense of humor as I have then screw them!!
