Is it worth using auto-assault? Because it seems like every time I use it instead of regular assault, I get mostly 1's and 2's, which completely ruins my games. Is it the trade-off for saving time or am I just unlucky?

I did a search for auto assault and it didn't give any relevant posts so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
Is it worth using auto-assault? Because it seems like every time I use it instead of regular assault, I get mostly 1's and 2's, which completely ruins my games. Is it the trade-off for saving time or am I just unlucky?

I think you're just unlucky. I almost always use auto-assault. The only time I DON'T use auto-assault is when I'm certain I just want to slowly eat away at an army stack (so I can auto-assault it away with another stack after it's been whittled).Aeri wrote:I did a search for auto assault and it didn't give any relevant posts so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.

Auto assault is great in speedgames and fs games, where things have to move fast. If you have the time, I suggest - mostly - not using auto for the following reason. Very often there is a substantial risk of your attack going bad and when you use auto in such a situation, it can result in you ending up pretty much dead. By not using auto, you can stop whenever you realize, that the attack is no longer likely to succeed, and thus you minimize the loss.
Example 1 - You have 12 and want to take a territ holding 3. Don't auto here, it could leave you with way less than you want.
Example 2 - You have 402 and want to take a territ holding 52. Auto here. Larger numbers minimize the risk of auto'ing, and it would take a hell of a long time not to auto.
Also, remember that nothing is more frustrating than losing a game, because you accidentally auto'ed the wrong territ. One wrong click with auto can throw it all, so use it carefully.

I use Auto Assault all the time. Last time someone did a check of the dice with all the numbers, I had the best dice of all those reporting in. Take from it what you want.
