Well, here's the shot. Not the film I hoped for, but I'll find it eventually. I don't think this'll be too hard.

Hee!
Glad I could give you all a giggle. Since I clearly don't watch the same movies you all do, it's all I can contribute to this thread. Love that pic of Bette poptart.

If you all don't get it on this, I'll post a shot of the lead, who will be instantly recognizable.
I'll also add that the director of this film was prolific in horror during the late 50s/early 60s and appears as himself at the beginning of the film.

I kind of wanted someone else to answer this one, but I'm almost positive the film is
The Tingler .
I supppppppose I could come up with another gem if you all would like. Perhaps I'll make it easier this time

just because I liked a film with psychosomatic rape and Catherine Deneuve leg shots that always remind me of her prostitution in Belle du Jour does not make me... oh wait

I hate to openly admit this- but Repulsion was the first movie I've seen with her in it.
Good lord am I hooked
Your first shot resembles something from 'All the Boys Love Mandy Lane'; but I'm not 100%.

That was another newer horror (along with 'Eden Lake') that I found to be vastly overrated and underwhelming.
I contemplated posting something Bergman but I'm sure you'd get anything I thought of on the first shot =P
