I don't feel great saying this, because I really hate what the IRA did when I was growing up. I hated all the bombs and bomb threats in London.

I really don't like what this guy said. I don't think he should be banned. I think he should demilitarise his comments. I'm not going to stop hating what he says. And he's not going to stop hating me because I'm British. He can at least talk and not demand death.

I say give him an opportunity, another chance. A mini-version of the peace process. Might be a bit soppy for the "kill-em-all" types out there, but it's worked so far.

Sentimental, maybe, but I don't want to see another British kid lying in blood from and IRA bomb, and I don't want to see an Irish kid shot by a British army bullet.

So yeah- I don't support what he says. I don't even support his right to say it. I support his right to say something else. If he's willing.

We had the "no second chances" rule for a long time and we had nothing but criminals and killers. Hunger strikes, punishment beatings, bombs, and mobs. It didn't work. That no second chance thing? It didn't work. It killed people.

We had an amnesty, a peace process, negotiations, compromises, and now we don't have people blowing each other up. Notable absence of murder and terror on both sides. Second chances worked.

So here's what I'm saying. Give him a warning if you like. Ask for an apology even, but give him a clear reason. He types like a kid. Last thing we need is for hysterics, from either side. Don't make him out to be some terrorist.

See what he says next. If he wants to be that kind of person, he'll let you know. If he just got backed into a corner and didn't know how to get out, then this is his chance.

Thats as close to terrorism as Ive seen in a long time.

I grew up with the IRA. I knew people whose family were injured in some of the bombings. It still hits me deep down, and if I have to put up with this on a site then I dont want to be on it.

I don't like it either, and I have family members who were injured too. I also have friends from Ireland who had family members beaten up by loyalist gangs supported by the British army. There was terror used on both sides. Doesn't mean it's all equal. Just means that there's still hate on both sides, and giving in to that didn't solve anything.

I don't like seeing Gerry Adams or Martin McGuinness portray themselves as politicians now. I just accept it. I'm not going to be a part of all those old hatreds.

If this guy wants to say something else, I hope I've given him space to say so. If he still wants to advocate killing, then ban him. If he's got a record of complaints, ban him.

well here's a subject that hits home all right. racists, terrorists comments from one person, probably someone that is very young, and not very intelligent, and everyone jumping on the band wagon to admonish him. I'm a second generation Irishman in the USA, my grandfather came here when he was in his early 20's exactly for the reasons you have all spoken of. He wanted a free Ireland from the Brits, he may have or may not have done things that made it not exactly safe for him to be in Ireland. So he moved here. That i know of, no one in my family here has ever known what happened there, but i don't believe it was good. what i hear here from FTUJ is nothing but pure hatred, and if that's all he's got in his life, then i feel sorry for him. I have family that I've never known that live in Ireland because my grandfather couldn't or wouldn't return home, and that is a shame, as he was the 7th son of a 7th son. Banning FTUJ is not going to stop him, he'll just sign in as another name, banning has proven not to work on this site, just like terrorists acts did not work for the IRA, hence the reason that they finally sat down with the Brits and for many years now there has been relative peace. I am not in support anyone that breeds hatred, from any where, or towards anyone, for this there should be reprimands against FTUJ, but not a ban, if he continues to spew hatred with out being able to dole out an intelligent conversation then maybe there should be an outright ban.
