Thanks for the info. After he sent the nasty messages, he said I was now an enemy and to not bother replying because the replies would be blocked. I have no intention of replying, but was a bit curious as to how to stop PM abuse from my end. I can just delete his childish messages, and I think he's done with his pompous, egotistical and childish rantings (until he reads this, that is). I just didn't appreciate the abuse, when I was sincere in my request for him to please explain the poorest rating possible he gave me for a game where I played well and actually came in second place. I really felt that if a good player such as he gave me the worst rating, that I should really find out why so I can become a better player. Turns out he was wrong in his assumptions of my game play, and admitted it. It was only when I asked him to please be more careful and stick with the rules and guidelines of the ratings system in the future that he went off on me. I mean, I read the rules, and I read what to do if you get a poor rating. The suggestion in the help section was to contact the person who left it. I was polite and sincere. No need for the crap I got.

Oh well, he's still just a kid really. Certainly acts like one. I like CC. I play at many Risk-like game sites and used to be premium here (my old nick that I don't have access to anymore because I lost the password along with my old computer), and will join again in a week or so.

If the admins can either merge or delete my old nick, AtomicSlug, I would appreciate it. The password was a 16 character (alphanumeric, case-sensitive) one, and was encrypted on my old hard drive. obviously not something I can remember: (26+26+10)^16 = 47,672,401,706,823,533,450,263,330,816 possible guesses LOL. I don't have time for that, and I don't think the universe does either...

If I should contact an admin privately for this or post it elsewhere, please let me know. I haven't been in these forums for over a year and am trying to become reacquainted with the rules and guidelines, which have also changed a bit.

A multi is having and using more than one account, usually in the same game, or having more than one non-premium so one can play more than the 4 game limit.

Since neither I, nor anyone (but the site creator and any admins he gave player password access to) have any access to the old account, I no longer "own" it.
Since it is inactive, and has been for over a year, it is not a multi, just a dead account.

So, technically and morally, I'm not a multi.

I was able to not only change my nick at another site and delete the old account, but was also granted my lifetime membership back after speaking with the site owner. I don't mind just re-paying for yearly membership here at CC.

PS Hindsight is 20/20, so yes, I realize now that perhaps I should have contacted the admins before making the new nick, but in my own defense, I could not prove that I was actually the owner of the old account, since all my personal information (credit card, paypal accounts, etc.) were also stolen (but also, thankfully I always kept them encrypted as well). So please, no replies that involve "coulda shoulda woulda". I'm not even sure I can prove now that I was the owner, hence it was far easier for me to just leave the dead account dead.

That's not true... if you foe someone they can no longer PM you. There is also a method to block PM's from a certain person, this allows you to still play games with them(for whatever reason).

Well, I play at 4 Risk-like sites. I have not had any problem at all with the other ones, and have actually had assistance and my membership given back at one site.

So, I don't feel it should be a problem, but it isn't up to me. If anyone has an issue with it, talk to the admins. If you are an admin, please note that I am only using one account and the other one is quite dead and has been for over a year now.

Please note that just because CC reserves the right to suspend accounts, it doesn't mean that they must suspend them (especially both of them). Also, I no longer have the same ISP. They can check their records and see that it is a different ISP and as I stated, has not been used in over a year. Dead account.

Also note the phrase "Multiple accounts are discovered by routine scans and community cheating reports." There is nothing on the scans, for the reasons I've already given, and there should be no cheating reports since I'm not cheating.

I trust that considering my circumstances, and since there is and has been no abuse nor cheating on my part, that the admins will just delete the old account, not the new one. Or delete the new one and email the password to the old one to me. Or just leave the old account dead. No one but the owner and possibly the admins can access it anyway.

Not a big deal. I'm not going to foe someone just because they send me nasty messages. I'd much rather that they unfoe me so I can play in their games and (eventually) kick their ass. But alas, to this end, I am denied. *sigh* I'm not going to lose any sleep over not being able to play in games he's in, and I have no interest in sending him any more PM's, I've had my say and was polite about it. He wasn't. But that's not my problem. I reported it because I'm not convinced that he singled me out for any special reason and I suspect that this is a bad habit on his part, thus warranting a request for some investigation and perhaps a small slap on the wrist and reminder of the rules of conduct.

Now, please everyone, let me catch up with all the other areas of the forum. This is a dead horse. I reported abuse, which was my sole intent. The nick thing is a non-issue to me, but if it is an issue to others or to the admins, I ask that any further posts on that matter be placed in a separate thread or another appropriate place in the forums. I was the only one who DID try to break his bonus. It doesn't show in the log because all my attacks failed (hence the dice COMMENTS which were facts, not whining).
3 out of the first 5 turns, I could not take a single territory nor even kill one defender. Just bad luck, plain and simple, and I'm not whining about it.
In the latter rounds, I attacked him every single time, and all of the attacks failed.

So please, in the future, be a bit more careful about your judgments. Feel free to comment in the game chat or PM me or others during the game should you feel so adamant that they are not doing "their part". I think you may find that they have been, but it doesn't show in the logs. And when you leave ratings in the future, please stick to the rules of the rating system, lest someone lodge a legitimate complaint. This is friendly advice. I gave you the proper feedback based on your play, and expected the same. The reasons you just listed for the poor rating only fall under one category of the ratings system, not all three, and in themselves, are hardly reason for the poorest rating even on that one aspect.

Oh my God. I wish I would have left the rating. You clearly are far too anal about something as trivial as how many fucking stars you got based on your performance. Your strategy was poor and your attitude is shitty. About the only good thing I can say is that your attacks were fair. I have little time to argue with you about a game that was over 2 weeks ago. Quit focusing on old games and concentrate on the ones you are in. Big babies like you are just friggin annoying. Worry about things that matter and improving your performance.

Here's the issue: I asked, quite politely for an explanation of the rating. He told me why he did it. I explained that my attacks did not show because they were not successful. He withdrew the poor rating. I thanked him and asked him to please be more careful in the future. He sent me two abusive replies in return. I did not, nor will not, respond to such remarks, but I do take offense in both his choice of language, and because he admitted abusing the rating system in the first place.

Lastly, I'm a big boy. I can give it out just as I take it, but I choose not to, because that is clearly against the code of conduct at CC. I don't play rating games and I don't verbally abuse other players on this site. In return, I don't expect to be the recipient of ratings and PM abuse. In fact, you can see the fair and accurate rating I gave MNDuke for that game on my ratings page. I didn't withdraw my rating, nor adjust it downward.

I've been told privately that this is technically not abuse. I post it because I highly suspect that this player does this to many other players, not just me, in which case it is or could be considered abuse. If he posts bad ratings against the rules and then sends nasty PM's to players who ask him why or complain about it just because he loses... and he does that often, then yeah, that would be abuse IMHO. So, close this if it is not considered abuse. I won't lose any sleep over it, but I do want to encourage others to report should this be a general habit of this guy, in which case, again, I feel it would be abuse.

As for pm's, if you know the other person is in no mood communicating with you in any friendly matter and you still continue to press your point with him or leave provoking remarks, you guys are accountable on how your exchange of pm's goes out.
