Well one, of my many, reasons for wanting this thread locked is because Jamie's thread, "Did You Know Muhamad Was A Homosexual?", was locked. You either have to close all relgion-bashing threads, or none of them.

The first Gospel (Mark) was not written until 60-62 C.E., which is too far out of range to be a first hand account, and the last Gospel, John, around 90-110 C.E. which is WAY out of the area of being a first hand account.

This an appeal to popularity. It is a logical fallacy and thus does not speak to the validity of the Bible, Christianity, or Jesus existing. It's precisely the same as me saying "More people like chocolate then vanilla. Therefore, chocolate tastes better."

Sorry, but you're the one telling me there is bashing. I am asking you to prove your claim. So why don't you show them to me, and explain why they bash Christianity. It would serve as a good start off to prove on legitimate grounds to the mods why this is a bashing thread.

I am offended, especially by the title, calling Jesus a myth. If you look at it the way you're seeing things, Jamie's thread was just a debate of wether Muhammad was a homosexual, not bashing Islam.

You're starting to flail willy nilly. Jaime made a baseless claim, without providing a source or evidence. We're asserting Jesus did not exist, with lack of historical evidence supporting this idea, and thus asking you to prove he did not exist.

Again, prove that we say "bad" things about Christianity. Simply because you do not like it does not mean it is so. Wait, no.

Instead, counter my points. If you can't, then you have failed at convincing me that Jesus existed.

I'd say there's pretty much the same evidence that Jesus existed as Julius Caesar (his near contemporary). Basically you've got all these people writing about some prophet/scholar/revolutionary around this time called Jesus or Christ. Now of course there’s not many primary sources written when he was alive (not much literacy at this time and the Romans (the super power of the time, and where we get most of our histories of this period) didn't care too much what happened in the far off province of Judea especially to non-Romans. So most of the writings about him are from early Christians who either met him (rare) or his disciples (much more common) - so second hand. But still there’s not much non-Roman sources at this time of Julius Caesar either for the same reasons!
But it’s up to you whether you make the leap to say that historical figure is God/Son of God (and not one that I'd personally take).

We have more evidence that Julius Caesar existed more so then Jesus, nearly multiple by a billion. We have first hand accounts of Caesar from multiple sources and clear influences on history. With Jesus we have Zilch.

why are you so determined to disprove and discredit the Christian faith? I mean, even if Jesus might not have existed, the Bible is an excellent guideline on how an ideal person should live their lives. You have to give it THAT, don't you?
