Revenue and advertising dollars generated in prime time,
what did you think Baseball was about?

There once was a time where the World Series was played in daylight
and during the week.

Dodgers sweep while the Rockies take a snow day
and the Sox face another elimination game.

This was a good read I saw the other day at ESPN about ticket prices and the new Yankees stadium.

Since baseball started divisional playoffs you have late October games, you are going to run into weather issues. They should start the baseball season in mid March. But then again spring training is a money maker also. I have been going to spring training for the last 12 years down in Arizona and the tickets are not as cheap as they used to be.

Poor Twins just can't get a break against the Yankees. Maybe having Morneau would of helped in some of those key at bats.

it was really fun for philadelphia fans to stay up until 2:30 AM to watch the end of the game.

the world champs get no respect. the networks cater to the yankees and Dead Sox Nation.

BTW - i loved seeing the Red Sox blow that game. im so sick of all the bandwagon red sox fans. Before 2004 i never saw anyone wearing a Red Sox hat and now they're all over the place. I'd root for the yankees over the Red Sox any day of the week.

Ha... it was really easy to get behind the Sox a few years ago
as they came back from three games down against the Yankees.
What a hoot that was!

Even with the Rangers farm club members on the team I can't root for the Yankees.
Let's Go Halos!

Big Popi on steroids is just another reason to laugh at baseball's shriveling credibility
and especially at the sweep of Boston right out of the ALCS.

Bring on the Dodgers
I was more worried about this Colorado series.

NLCS history

1977 - Dodgers over the Phillies
1978 - Dodgers over the Phillies
1983 - Phillies over the Dodgers
2008 - Phillies over the Dodgers
2009 - the rubber match

As a stereotypical Philadelphia fan, I think the Phillies are always going to lose (pessimism and all that).

But, good win last night. I almost had a nervous breakdown when Lidge came in.

He had a good year but he isn't a lights out closer yet. That 3.06 ERA for the year showed he had some bumpy roads.

nothing do to do with huston street
the fact that the phillies won the game being down to 2 outs, 2 strikes shows me they are still the champs and until someone knocks them off they are the team to beat

It's the American League Championship... so how does anyone miss a pop up
two feet out of the infield between short and third with two outs and a
runner on third base?

Yankees are up 2-0 and their pitching has the Halos under their thumb. so far

How are the Yankees up 2-0 if they've only played 1 game? :?

Don't mind me, I was just starting my first cup of coffee
and had a brain fart. Guess I was still in shock from that
three error opener... and was projecting ahead.

Let's try it this way... ALL THE MLB PLAYOFF TEAMS HAVE WON A GAME
except one.

I was at the Phils game last night... good stuff. The crowd was raucous (understandably). The Dodgers looked like they gave up after the 1st. If I was a Dodgers fan, I'd be mightily embarrassed by that performance last night.
