pimpdave wrote:This sounds suspiciously like you're soliciting stories from our own lives to illustrate your point. Since I know in the past you've managed to be a complete shithead (without any reason for it) using people's personal lives against them, why the hell would anyone in their right minds share with you?
Don't get me wrong mpjh, you're all right in some ways, say, when you're arguing about something that doesn't cut someone down, but you're colossally two-faced when it comes to keeping confidences or respecting boundaries. You simply can't be trusted to not completely cross the line with little or no provocation.
So why don't you tell your inspiring story first? Then you can cut all the rest of us down with how insufficient and inferior to you we are.
Also, other mods, this isn't a flame. It's just plain truth. It's only fair to warn other users that anything you reveal about yourself to mpjh he WILL use against you at some point. Especially if you're just playfully kidding with him, he'll just bust out his sledgehammer and smash that thumb tack into the ground and then act all self-righteous about it, as if he was doing you a favor.

Nah, that's just you projecting again. It's what you usually do, when you're trying to cut others down, you just harangue them in an effort to avoid your own self-loathing; targeting aspects of yourself you know aren't perfect. That way you can always tell yourself, "well, no matter how far I fall from grace, at least ______ will have always fallen further. I am superior."mpjh wrote:Sounds more like a down and out story, pimp. Anyone got a still standing story about someone not a member of CC?
So, come on now...mpjh wrote:We all have seen people that face adversity, survive, and are "still standing" when the dust settles. Give us your example, please.

I probably shouldn't, but...azezzo wrote:well i suppose in 6 months we shall see that owenshooter is still standing, to the dismay of the o.p.

I was stationed in Biloxi, MS during Hurricane Katrina. The eye of the hurricane hit just to the west of us (making it a very bad thing for us). Lived for six days in one building with no air conditioning or running water with 2000 of my closest friends. I was the First Sergeant, in fact. Most of us lost most of our households, but fortunately there were no deaths or serious injuries. I'm still around and fighting, though it did convince me to retire to get the hell out of there.mpjh wrote:We all have seen people that face adversity, survive, and are "still standing" when the dust settles. My sister rode it out in a bar in the Quarter. Too bad you cannot resign from alcohol.Woodruff wrote:I was stationed in Biloxi, MS during Hurricane Katrina.
