It wasn't scary. It was very predictable, but there were some cool scenes in the movie. One of the best scenes had to be the Ouija board scene.

Saw it today. As a bit of a horror buff, my interest was piqued by the nature of the ads and the way some friends were hyping it.

The first two statements of this I agree with. The last, I do not.

The nature of the spook moments were such that they were trying to get a few good quality scares over a bunch of little boo moments. I can appreciate this. There were a couple of good, decently acted scenes, but my main beef was that the creepiest parts were shown in all the trailers, and that the ending was too predictable, and overdone. They didn't need to go as far as they did, and I think the movie would have been better for it. But I won't get into that any more unless anyone is curious about my specific opinions.

Overall, better than expected, but not as good as hoped.

That movie spooked me! Keep in mind I refrain from watching any movie like that. The part that made me shudder was the very end when she was dragged out of her bed, as well as the footsteps with the powder. To be totally honest I had trouble sleeping the first few nights after seeing it, mostly because the sound the wind makes was akin to the sound the movie played before the demon did anything, but that was likely just a result of my current frightened mindset. I have a very logical brain and I know stuff like that cannot happen but this movie repulsed all logic from my head and created its own logic: a logic of waking fear and sleeplessness.

Yeah, the dragging bit was very well done, I think.
