In my defense, I'm taking a page from most television networks when they do "end of year" shows (in other words, I'm ignoring December).

That being said, knowing my own tendencies, I would expect that one of two things are most likely to happen: (1) the final Greekies won't go out until sometime in January or (2) the final Greekies won't go out at all.

More likely the latter than the former, greekdog, but if they go out at all, you can at least count on one, maybe two threads complaining about the results of the awards that will then be merged into yours.

To do something like this right, you need an established editorial board of some kind. There's no such structure here, and we all know that based on the politics of the site, the mods can't be getting involved (nor would it be wise for any mod on any interweb message board to do so), at least not overtly.

So even if the mods are involved, you have to provide the illusion that they are completely not. You also have to get a "panel" together that will be willing to spend the time figuring all this garbage out and then announcing the winners and being prepared for the shit storm that ensues (you can count me out for the panel, for starters).

If you leave it open to a vote, it just becomes another meaningless drop in the message board ocean of drivel.

It's a potentially fun idea to do "awards", to say the least, but might be better conducted by (within) the various subgroups, who will be more of like mind than the crowd here.

First of all, I'm doing this for fun (mostly for my own enjoyment). This is not conquerclub sanctioned stuff. Second, I expect people to complain (and probably welcome it). Otherwise, I really am not sure what the problem is. No one's getting any loot or real award.
