world 2.1 question

Having never tried this map before now I was wondering... if you control the whole continent eg. NA then do you still get the lower bonuses as well, eg. 'all USA' or 'all Canada'?

You don't get them in addition if that's what you mean - the lower bonuses make up part of the full continent bonus. e.g in NA, you get a total of 9 for holding the three lower bonuses, then an additional two for completing the whole continent.

Now can someone explain in what reality does ruling the whole of China hold the same value (+1 territory) as owning Hawaii.

you have to hold hawaii and 3 other territories in onceana to get a bonus of 3 troops I am not sure what you mean when comparing it to hawaii?

Size of the territory is completely irrelevant.
It's all about where it is and what it borders.
