I saw that box score and my jaw dropped. How on earth did the Columbus goalie let in 8 goals before he got pulled? Steve Mason isn't THAT bad from what I know. Props to Detroit for ripping Columbus to shreds.
He let in 3 goals on 6 shots in the first 7:31 of the 1st, then got pulled. Garon came in and gave up 1 goal, then they put Mason back in to start the 2nd, and left him in to give up 5 more goals. Just crazy.
I think my player of the week without a doubt is gonna be the Thrashers' Kovalchuk... as much as I hate bad losses (7-0) I have to hand it to Kovalchuk for notching up a 4-point (2 goals/assists) game with a broken foot.

Hockey players are tougher than athletes in any other sport.
Jimmy Howard is going to need to come up big (so far he has) for the Wings cause Osgood can't play more than 50 games and still be effective in the playoffs. That, and if they could keep more than half their roster healthy at one time. Sheesh.

Incredible season for him, eh? Possible Rookie Of the Year candidate, and the clear starter on this team.

I think Detroit takes Phoenix out in 5.
He will get some consideration...but there is still Duschene and Traveres.
