there are no extra features.. the only special thing that clans have available are a forum. they can still be a clan without a forum. the listing of clans is updated by marval and jpcloet, and as jpcloet mentioned earlier his own clan(AOD) functioned for a time without a forum.
I'd think being listed as a clan could be rather relevant for challenges.

Interesting confusion. Who's right? Can a clan exist without a forum?
But they should still be listed on each person's profile. Their clan does not exist anymore. Most clans would not likely accept a challenge from a group of players that does not have a clan name attached to their profiles. Having said that, when a clan has not posted in their own forum in months and has not participated in a war in months, I have a hard time believing that your members were truly involved in clan activities. There are 30 or so clans here and that level of activity just doesn't cut it to survive as a clan.

I used email to disperse Excel spreadsheets to set up our clan wars, IN GAME CHAT (which I think is the most important place to talk about a game) and face-to-face chat. How was that "having our own ways of communicating"? Our forum space was irrelevant. Posting a joke in there once a month was not something I could remember to do. And it cost me.
Well if your forum space was, in your own words, "irrelevant," why make big deal out of nothing? They deleted something you never used. So what?

This thread seems to have gotten stuck in a feedback loop.

Seriously so what? Or is there some special clan privelages? I don't know how clan wars work. Is that one of them?
If being inactive for a month is enough to warrant the deletion of an entire forum, I think some of the international forums should be laid to rest. For example, the Finnish forum has seen no action since August, and that was saxitoxin trolling.
Edit- I just looked again, and apparently that's the only dead non-english forum.

Surely if they are customers it doesn't matter how they do things (as long as they don't hurt the rest of the site). According to Hoodoo, 16 players who used to be in the clan havn't renewed. Assuming the loss of their clan was the cause for all of them to leave (which it easily could've been), that's 400$ profit you've lost the site owner.
I fully agree here. KA just cost the site 400 bucks in profit for little more than organization in the forums and to make the forum about .1% more active than it had been before in relation to the number of forums. I rather thought that this site was to supposed to INCREASE profits, not DECREASE them. I'm not so sure that your boss will be very happy with you.

the only thing that cc did was delete a forum that they themselves admit that they did not want nor use.... it is just the op complaining because his friends left the site, cc had nothing to do with it...
