Good point. Maybe all new maps should automatically go to the top of the list. Then they will for sure get a proper debut. If they are not popular, and don't catch on, then they will certainly move on down the list to find their rightful position among the others.yeti_c wrote:It's not the size of the jar - it's the writing on the outside that stops you seeing the pickles in the jar...mibi wrote:Why remove any maps?
The issue is not the number of pickles we have... it's the size of the jar.
Sorting by 'most played' is a really BAD idea... if you sort by that then the most played will be even more played... thus skewing the sort in the favour of the currently most played - and new maps will be at the bottom of the list...

I'm with Alstergren. There are plenty of maps I don't enjoy and don't play, but that doesn't mean they should be removed. The only maps that should be removed are ones that have gameplay issues - ones that should not have come out of the foundry in the first place. It doesn't matter if a map is ugly, hard to understand, or you just plain suck on it - it shouldn't be removed unless the foundry decides that its stamp should be revoked.alstergren wrote:Ok. Didn't read all the posts, but saw some alarming suggestions on page 1 that CC should get rid of maps...
I've been playing for 3½ years now. Until 1 month ago I wondered why the hell anyone would wanna play Crosswords. Never got it. Now, after having been forced to play it a few times, I realize that it's quite neat. In itself, it's a new experience to me personally. So getting rid of maps would really be a strange thing to do. Any map that has passed through Foundry is a good map.

What about having a top 20-40 but once you are on this list the games played on it dont count towards its ranking on the list. You reset it every night or so? This would mean that the games on this list fluctuate a lot and it will be a true representation of the top favorites at the time. Hmmm just throwing it out there, I didnt really think about it to much lolyeti_c wrote:It's not the size of the jar - it's the writing on the outside that stops you seeing the pickles in the jar...mibi wrote:Why remove any maps?

Something like this, perhaps?jbrettlip wrote:I would put whitey's avatar near the lesser played maps. That would get them more attention.
